just to be warned, a teenager tried to steal my bike when i left it in the front garden to pop back into my house to get something. I came out and he was riding my bike down the road, i chased him down forest hill rd and into park, I was about to catch him when he jumped off my bike and ran into the woods. Bike safe but i was a bit out of breath!

Well done LBsmith - glad he didn't get away with it.

dbboy - very concerned to hear about the Netherby road incident. Can you share any more details? Was it a burglary or street robbery?

ETD to say - CPFCFan our messages crossed in the ether. Though there are also some allegiances to the Eagles in this house :)

Ah, so it was near Honor Oak. Glad the police got there quickly enough to catch them. How upsetting for those involved. I have to say the idea of being robbed scares me much more than break-ins. That they weren't intimidated by a couple is all the more worrying.
My partner told me that he saw a teenager attempt to mug someone for their mobile on dog kennel hill near Sainsbury's last week. It was 6pm! The muggee was considerably bigger however and told him where to go. I am glad it wasn't me, I don't think I would have been able to do the same.
I have just had to call the police after catching two 12-13 yr olds (the boys were about 5ft max, white, slight build, and wearing hoodies) stealing a new Vespa on Ondine Road. I was weighed down with sainos bags but challenged them and they eventually ran off with the moped. If you live in the area, make sure you lock up/protect any bikes as best as you can.

I had my Vespa stolen outside my flat on Ondine Road between Friday around 7pm and Saturday at around 9am. It is a light blue Vespa and was parked outside number 42 Ondine Road. I am desperately trying to find it again, or at least get a lead on who took it. Does this sound like what you saw?

Thanks

Neil

    • I see some possibly overloaded grandparents, with mobility issues, trying to help their overloaded daughter. They put some feelers out in anticipation of having to look after their grandson who, it seems, it extraordinarily smart and requires extra stimulation. A big ask all round. That they weren't yet aware of exact dates hardly warrants your complaints of time-wasting.
    • The shops selling gifts, interior stuff and clothes all sell different gifts, interiors stuff and clothes. They don't all have identical items, which would be ridiculous. It's a  completely different situation. The coffee shops and restaurants mostly also have different vibes, different food etc and cater to different tastes and pockets. The two empanada places have virtually identical displays of identical looking empanadas. I don't think anyone has suggested this move is "malicious" - that would make it even worse. Cheeky, yes, given the proximity to the first shop. I agree this is good advertising, though most people in ED probably don't look at the ED Forum (I stand to be corrected). Re the "organic grocer", if it's the one on the same side as Chango, yes their snacks are very tasty.  Unfortunately we were short changed there on several occasions when calling in late at night, and were once asked  a ridiculous price for a few items (with no price tickets on the snacks) so we don't go there any more. Hopefully these were all genuine mistakes, and hopefully things have improved since their refurb.
    • Makes sense though… or do you not think so? Can’t book anything without dates!!
