They must have been spectacularly good climbers, then...unless your bathroom is in the basement ;-)

Phwoaar...I love a good Wren me, met a good few of 'em in me service years aboard the HMS Erection. Right lively sorts they was and gagging for a bit of action during shore leave. In fact my Elsie was a Wren, leastways she was until I got 'er in the family way. Shotgun wedding? More like forced nuptials at the barell of a small munitions factory, 'er old fella was a stern old church going type who....etc.

Don't worry about it, Sandperson - lots of people use the Forum to vent and it's easy to come away thinking that everyone will loathe you the minute you step outside your door with your buggy / bicycle / Caffe Nero cup / White Stuff bag / whatever. I think it's just that the mean-spirited and openly prejudiced posts stick in the mind more than the kind, intelligent, tolerant ones, although there are just as many of the latter.

Congratulations in advance to you and Mrs. Sandperson for your happy event! Great news.

We have lots of different birds in the garden because we have several feeders hanging off a tree/from the wall. We also have 2 cats, one of which is far too lazy to go murdering avian wild-life, but the other being something of a mass-murderer for a short-while. He now wears three bells and the birds are now safe from him. The birds of coure are still under threat from magpies and foxes though...

    • Last week (27 Nov) I was told the only way to book was via ACCURX (sp) website.     I then proceeded to book via patient access (only 2 appts left). Left and right are telling different things Edit to add - can someone describe what happens once you have put a request via ACCURX.   does it wait until a Dr has reviewed your request and how (if at all) do you choose the date.

    • It’s literal.  There are levels of earners. Those who don’t work and get benefits, those who work and get benefits, those who work but don’t get benefits. now, it’s an assumption that the last group are all wealthy, but that’s not the case. People in this last group are most exposed.. private rent, higher tax brackets, cost of living increases, yet they pay the most tax, and get no help.    So many questions: why are workers needing to be subsidised? Should companies pay more? Should there be private rent caps?  Why are people better off not working at all, or only working low hours to ensure they get benefits top ups?  How do you think people respond to this?     Do you realise that a number of companies are focussing on buying property? The banks, the supermarkets! Yet the government is squeezing individuals out of this equation. What do you think this will look like in the future? When foreign companies own the majority of UK property?
