Sue
Yep, there is at least one handbag in the window (large, red) And some glittery shoes ....:) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3326-davina-boutique-82-lordship-lane/page/4/#findComment-106499 Share on other sites
kristymac1
There's bugger all in the shop - went along today in the spirit of 'giving everything a fighting chance' and like a lot of 'boutiques' there's naff all in there. Shame. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3326-davina-boutique-82-lordship-lane/page/4/#findComment-106510 Share on other sites

annaj
I'm with Sean, I haven't been in, but I think the "boudoirish" front is quite attractive. Also, boudoirish is definitely my word of the week, I'll be trying to use it whenever I can... Cassius
Not cheap either - the only pair I looked at were ?110.... I saw a similar pair in Russell and Bromley in New Bond Street for less than that. Guest
You're all exaggerating in a ridiculous nimbyish EDF way.Or so I thought till I went in today to see what all the fuss was about. Good grief - gaudy tat only begins to cover it; actually worse than the website. Wonder what will move in there in six months? (Mind you, what do I know: I didn't think the shoe shop in North Cross Road would survive either. Though I think that one's more of a yummy mummy hobby business really - something to do while Jemima's at nursery.) dulwichmum
OHMYGOD!I popped into this shop today, and it looks like the kind of place where Barbara Windsor and Joan Collins purchased footwear. It is very Walworth Road mid 1980's. I am sure that the staff are lovely, but what were they thinking, opening on Lordship Lane in this decade? I feel traumatised for the poor investors. I need to lie down. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3326-davina-boutique-82-lordship-lane/page/4/#findComment-106661 Share on other sites

oblivion
Davina Shoes. Hmmmmm... Shiny Patent Buckled bad taste. Did Davina do ANY market research I wonder. Maybe she did? There are plenty of hairdressers and estate agents on LL who are all known for their impeccably bad dressing. Ill fitting suits (there's her next shop perhaps?) Over 'done' hairdresser hair. A penchant for pink. Visible muffin tops (thats the usually rather flabby mid-riff above trouser top and below tummy button...) and the high high shiny shiny shoes with big shiny buckles . It is a great shame that the shop is at the head of North X Road , very visible and very um... pink. Alas, 'taste' is an individual thing and everyone is of course entitled to regard their own very little world of taste the best. However, having said that, I DECLARE DAVINA AINT GOT NONE. giggirl
It's a shop for hookers, surely? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3326-davina-boutique-82-lordship-lane/page/4/#findComment-107632 Share on other sites
mightyroar
not just hookers. they have lelli kellis in the window, which any girl between 5 and 10 will tell you are sparkly impractical pointless objects of desire for children, with their own tv ad campaign, Davina's got them in the window, so maybe she ain't no fool after all? I will of course be distracting my female offspring with organic fruit as we stroll past that shop.the thing that does confuse me is the name. Davina Boutique, like boutique is her surname, good surname if you want to sell clothes/shoes. Or like she is a small personalised fashionable version of herself. mmmmmm Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3326-davina-boutique-82-lordship-lane/page/4/#findComment-107656 Share on other sites
Spangles30
I am wondering if anyone has bought anything in said shop. Furthermore, it would be interesting to hear from the proprietor or manager of this shop to hear why they felt this area needed a shop like that. It is in such a prime - as far as East Dulwich is concerned - location too! I have only peered through the window in a flabbergasted and rather aghast state. I think I may pop in and potter around next time. macroban
Has anyone considered that Davina Boutique has done accurate market research, got it right, and is confident that the business will be well-positioned for the East Dulwich of 18 months hence? oblivion
just had a thought. We could all help to put Dav on the right track and go in a ask if she could order in some Birkenstocks. Sure she'd appreciate the locals input. giggirl
No no no - you're so wrong. This is a shop for hookers. Soon you won't be able to move in Lordship Lane for hookers on their days off, stocking up on footwear. You'll see I'm right.
