The capitol is definitely closing. Staff have been told it will be a cinema. Obviously the change to a cinema might need several hoops to jump through but it is definitely not "my mate says..." posts on local forums and that's it". I find your comments quite insulting!

I saw it in a press release from Picture House excitedly talking about everything from reclining seats to a green roof providing fresh produce for the menu and a plan to reveal some of the hall's original beamwork!

The Wetherspoon pub (ex Cinema) the Capital in Forest Hill is closing in 6-8 weeks and changing back to a cinema.

Capitol (Wetherspoons) staff 90% sure it will happen and most of them have been allocated jobs elsewhere but there is still no contract signed.

I've had a look at the Forest Hill Forum and there's nothing recent about the cinema there (as far as I can see). Surely at the very least the Forest Hill rumour brigade should have swung into action, when the "news" has reached the EDF.

I hope it's true about The Capitol reverting back to a cinema. It's what it was built for in the first place. I used to go there when I was a kid and the one on Grove Vale too.
