..but not particularly asking you to change his ways, no no - this is far more superficial, and in every sense of the word.

Prompted by a conversation in the Vale on Friday, I'd like to ask:-

Who do you think you look like?

Who would you like to look like?

Real or fictional, past or present, abstract or simply odd - I look forward to everyone's creative input!

I'll start - people have said I look like Helen Hunt (it's the nose) but I'd rather look like Grace Kelly!

I get Bjork thrown at me a lot - I think it's the short pixie thing going on.

Pictures of myself aged three and Suri, Tom Cruises and Katie Holmes child, are indistinguishable - I had an ex contact me years later to point this out.

Who would I like to look like? Helena Christensen would be perfect, ta very much!

Not been compared to anyone recently - back when "Men Behaving Badly" was on use to be told I looked like Caroline Quentin, then a couple of times got told I looked like Sonia from "Eastenders" - much preferred the former!!

As to who I'd like to look like - I'll often see gorgeous brunettes on telly and think if I woke up looking like them things would be good - but annoyingly can't remember any of them at the moment!!

I've been told Che Guevara (especially when I had more hair) by more than one person, but I never really saw it.

Couple of others have suggested Jack Black. Not sure how I feel about that, as I find him really really annoying!

Who I'd like to look like... Hmmm well anyone who's hair wasn't thinning would be a good start!

Dave Grohl maybe, he's pretty cool. Lenny Kravitz is a damned sexy man, but being that I'm white and he's mixed race, I don't really have much hope there :-S

People always said I looked like Paul off the Wonder Years.

Actually, a quick look around, and he scrubs up quite well as a grown up

Like to look like? Dunno, always thought Bruce Campbell was quite cool. Di Canio's quite dishy when he's not doing fascist salutes.

Have to say, ever since Mockney Piers posted some photos on flickr from the George Canning, I've always thought Sean Mac had a bit of this about him

I think this is a good thing Sean, he may be a nutter in real life, but he was pretty cool, and evil in that film! >:D<

As for me....

According to Bellenden Belle, to whom I am most grateful and very flattered, I'm a young Robert Redford (mrs_david_carnell wishes!!).

According to this piece of gadgetory I'm a 66% match for this fella (although I have no idea who he is:

Not bad. I think it might all be ego massage though. As to who I'd like to look like, anyone tall dark, swarthy and handsome. Us blond chaps get a raw deal in the world of female fantasies!

    • Our camera caught two folks doing this. One of them led me to believe the delivery driver was in on it as he left the package in a very odd place that the thief (who arrived about 10 minutes after from a direction where he could not have seen where the driver left it) went straight to it and took it - but he then dumped it halfway down the next road as clearly packets of freeze-dried food for a DofE award wasn't to his liking (karma sucks!). The second time a guy pulled his bike up in broad daylight, walked down to our door, opened the box, threw the empty box down and stuffed what he had found in his backpack and brazenly waved at the camera and then cycled off. Police asked us to upload his picture but we never heard anything back.

    • In the 1960s my husband went to a private day school, Although he was a bright child having won a couple of scholarships to other private schools, his father chose this particular one. He went from 11 - 14 years and left as unhappy with the set up which was based on ethnicity. All boys with both parents English were placed in the A stream regardless of academic ability, Boys with an Irish background were placed in B stream. All others were C streamed - this included boys with a Black or Asian  background, mixed race or mixed European background. His schooldays came to an end when he wished to learn Latin and he was told that no boy in C stream could participate in this subject. His father (not English) was very upset at this and withdrew him from the school and sent him  to a country boarding school.  The experiences he had with his schooling culminated in a breakdown of his mental health and several months in Maudsley. He had low self esteem and it took several decades for him to understand that it was the school system and not his ability which had failed him
