I would like to add my recommendation for Niko (07818607583). As well as replacing our bath (and disposing of the very heavy cast iron one), he fixed a couple of small plumbing issues which we'd had since (someone else) put in the bathroon 3 years ago and which I thought I would have to live with forever!

Also correctly assessed the issue with our tempremental shower and put in the correct pump so we now have a normal/fabulous shower! Thanks Niko. A very friendly, experienced and hard-working plumber.

I would also highly recommend Niko!

He's very reliable, friendly & helpful. He installed my dishwasher for a very reasonable price, and when my washing machine broke he came round the same afternoon to fix it.

It's reassuring to know an honest dependable plumber in ED! Thanks Niko!

After having seen all the recommendations on this forum I called Niko to sort out my very old and dated bathroom. He's very reliable, friendly & helpful. He replaced our bath (and disposed the very heavy cast iron one from the second floor), sink and toilet, retiled both the bathroom and toilet and replaced a radiator. I have a brand new bathroom and toilet. Thank you Niko! His pricing was absolutely reasonable. Would highly recommend him. His number is 07818607583

I'll also join the fan club! Called Niko this afternoon and three hours later he was around fixing our leaking loo. Once again rectifying another plumber's poor workmanship. Very open, friendly, polite and tidy. Will be recommending him to my friends and my builder.
Niko to the rescue again...more thumbs up. Called Niko, he came over immediately and sorted the problem, tried to talk me through it but gave up when he saw the glazed look in my eye. As ever he was prompt, helpful, clean/tidy, very honest and happy. Thanks Niko.
Niko was a pleasure to deal with. He completed a tricky job (fixing the saniflo unit in our downstairs toilet) with minimum hassle and sticking to the timeframe he set out at the start. Niko is professional, trustworthy and reliable. I'd recommend you get in touch with him before anyone else if you have a job that needs doing.

We're part of the Niko fan club too. He's done a couple of jobs for us now and we have found him friendly, prompt, reliable and reasonable with his rates, as well as all the epithets above. We'll definitely be requiring his services again. Niko we think you're fab.

Yet another recommendation for Niko. He recently fixed a shower that was running too hot. This involved doing away with the unnecessary tank in the roof and replumbing the cold water supply to the mains. He even took the old tank away. Today I called him about a minor leak. He was here within minutes, even though it's so close to Christmas, and fixed it quickly. Put his number (07818 607583) in your address book - he's a real find.

    • I’m not sure home delivery will replace physical supermarkets. I got the impression that they’re generally loss- making for the retailers and they’d much prefer to encourage customers back to the shops. I read somewhere that the typical Ocado order was around £100 but costs Ocado £120 to fulfill. It works for M&S because they have roped Ocado into a contract where Ocado carry the bulk of the loss.
    • Ocado stopped sourcing from Waitrose a few years ago. They now source from M&S and general brands. Waitrose have their own delivery service now. I don't know how well served SE22 is by it. Ocado offers for new customers are, or certainly were, really good, particularly in the run up to Christmas. I think I got 20%/15%/10% up to a maximum of £100 spend off my first three deliveries with no delivery charge or commitment to sign up for further deliveries. There wasn't a time limit, IIRC, so it was a great way of restocking heavy store cupboard basics and stuff for the freezer.
    • Fair enough point, but does that not in a way make it even worse if they open a shop almost directly  opposite another "family" business selling exactly the same type of products?
    • As Occado source from Waitrose, and were their only deliverer at one stage, and as Waitrose do now deliver it may be they feel their reach in ED is sufficient to mean having a local outlet would not gain them sufficient additional sales to be cost effective. The movement to delivery rather than physical shopping during Covid has I believe substantially changed the grocery economics. So it may be that the High Street dynamic for physical shops has now changed.
