Instead of getting trashed on a forums drinks this time we could try and do something different.

with this amazing weather that fills our skies with some many colored pissing clouds. maybe it is time for us to talk about doing our stuff in the park instead of doing it indoors as we usually do.

I propose a weekend (bring some umbrellas) some food, ants and other crawling slimy animals and head to dulwich park for an afternoon of frolic fun.

we could prepare something for those who have pests(cough cough children), set some sort of boxing rink and put them all inside. bets and such. that way they will leave us alone.

who's up for some munching in the park?

I was there too SM - be it the other side of the park with my own friends and family!!!

Am thinking of having another birthday picnic this year - was going to do the 27th as its the nearest Sunday to my birthday but know there might be a few sore heads following the previous day's activities!!

Esp as you're not all stranger's anymore happy to combine - maybe with more peeps the rounder's match I thought of but never played might take off!

I'll be up for it again. Early August would be fine with us. I'll bring a frisbie.

Thanks to Azul for being the social secretary this year. It was a strain organising such a huge event last year, all that co-ordinating and hosting took it's toll.

btw Sean, CWALD was there too with beau and daughter, and Hannibal, (the Rotweiller?) who ate some of your impressive chicken!

    • As I understand it Charlie Smith did put himself forward for selection in GG but Labour members chose someone else to represent them, Liam McGrath https://southwarklabour.com/our-candidates/   It'll be interesting to see if there are other defections - surely the Greens want a drip, drip, drip of news from now to May suggesting the momentum is with them.
    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
