Other East Dulwich blue plaques...

- Percy Lane Oliver, founder of the first voluntary blood donor service

- C.S. Forester, novelist

- Boris Karloff (born William Henry Pratt), actor

- Phyllis Pearsall, creator of the London A-Z

Along with Enid Blyton, I think that's the lot. Anyone know any more?

Well, just to link up a couple of threads, i don't know if he is local, but apparently actor Neil Stuke (from Game On, etc, you'll know his face, looks a bit like Marc Warren from Hustle) is rumoured to have a stake in the new Franklins shop. He has certainly been sighted on site.

SteveT Wrote:

I saw Jo Brand sitting eating outside Petit Chou food all round her mouth and smoking a fag. I cannot for the life of me understand why she is so large, she hardly consumes anything, she eats like a bird.

hungry vulture.

What an absolutely and utterly charming image you convey. Thanks for that (6)

..and I was just about to have my breakfast, for some reason now I'm not so keen::o

I've saw Neil Stuke last weekend (mentioned in another thread, works in the new Franklins shop).

Have seen Tracy from Corrie (Kate Ford) quite a few times in the summer when heavily pregnant.

Walked past James Nesbitt on Lordship Lane.

Girl from Peep Show Olivia Colman quite a few times.

And Richard Grieve (Neighbours/Home and Away and now Jonny Foster in Emmerdale) lives a few doors down from me, used to have black hair but now is a silver fox!

I was in Hisars for dinner with Patrick (John Travolta from the Office) last week. Not a resident but deserves a mention. It's not every day you get to sample neck of lamb with Flashdance MC Hammer type shee-yat.

But in SE22 Sean Mcghabhan is by far the most famous resident. Everyone knows that.

    • Hello East Dulwich families 👋 I wanted to introduce myself to the community. I’m a professional family & wedding photographer with 14+ years of experience, and I split my time between the US and London throughout the year. I’ll be based in London for the coming weeks and would love to photograph more local families here in East Dulwich. My approach is very relaxed and natural — no stiff posing, no pressure — just real connection, movement, and the beautiful everyday moments that tell your family’s story. I work especially well with kids and parents who feel “awkward” in front of the camera (which honestly is most of us!). Sessions can take place at home, in the park, on your favourite street, or anywhere that feels meaningful to you. The goal is to create images that feel like your life — not a photoshoot. If anyone has been thinking about documenting this season with their children, I’d love to connect, answer questions, or simply share examples of my work. No pressure at all — just happy to be here and meet some neighbours. You can see my work here: https://bluesparkphotography.com/family/ (use the contact page on the site to send me a message if you're interested!).
    • I don't! But I've also taken to calling myself David, as it seems to shorten the odds of achieving something in life. It's not King Dave, Dave Lloyd George, Dave Hockney, Dave Bowie or Dave Hasselhoff is it? And I'm not sure Michelangelo would have had such success if he'd called his sculpture 'Dave'.
