Anti-social behaviour in ED - WARNING: Don't read this if you have no sense of humour

Recommended Posts

I just witnessed a man in his car picking his nose and heard another man nearby squeeze out a sneaky fart.

Do you think I should report them to the safer neighbourhood team to keep an eye out?

I'm feeling pretty shaken up by the outrageous behaviour of these two individuals, the incidents coming so close together and all.

After a period of illness which kept me housebound for a week or so imagine my surprise when my trip to Lordship lane this lunchtime was completely devoid of any evidence of moral or social decline.

Where were the drunken cock swingers? hordes of rats? cars without wing mirrors ? feral cats with eyes hanging out ?hooded youths knocking on doors ? jars of toxic orange liquid filling the streets etc etc etc. I wonder if any other readers have been fooled by the thin veneer of normality that cloaks this moribund cesspool of humanity ?

Just a thought.

Yes, especially coming from a female solicitor.

So it would be ok if I was a male road-sweeper?

Sexism, classism & prudery in 7 words. Must be some sort of record.

I hope you took a photo of both incidents.

the image evoked is funny not threatening esp with the suit and all

Posted here first then realised should have been against the one in General ED, where I put it after, so I'm deleting it from here. As for farting and picking of noses don't mind my own, but not keen on other peoples, and must confess have done both in public.

Barney your opinion is unlikeky to change my choice of transportation and people, come on, this is not the pissing thread. Good first post though MrsMc :-)

We have nose-picking and farting to discuss. These are far more serious social ills than urinating in public.

go discuss it in the lounge LadyD! Shame on you *sighs*

Welcome to the forum MMC! I do hope the silly actions of those on this one thread hasn't put you off of the rest of the forum... sadly you get melons like those above everywhere!

When I was a small puppy, we used to see this sort of behaviour all the time (disputes rather than antisocial behaviour) and the solution was to gather round in a circle and shout "fight fight fight"

Where's teacher when you need one?

Agree with rahrahrah and PokerTime on this.

LadyDelilah, it is fair enough that you disagree with the point being made about urination in public, but to then go on to ridicule someone's legitimate feelings about their experience (because this clearly is a parody of that thread) is not pleasant.

    • Different people will be  involved within Thames Water. The people dealing with the leaks aren't the people encouraging less water usage. How many people have reported the Barry Road leak? By what channels? What response have they had? When we had a leak in our road which meant we had no water, several people reported it, there was good communication with TW, they explained why they couldn't come out immediately (other urgent jobs elsewhere in the area) , kept  in touch with us and fixed the leak within a reasonable timescale (hours). Someone from TW also contacted me later to make sure my water was back. But does Thames Water know about it? They aren't psychic (I presume). If nobody reports it, I also presume they won't even know the leaks are  there, unless they have some kind of central monitoring system which tells them when there are leaks in the system. To make it clear, I am not defending Thames Water as a company, which I think should never have been privatised.  But there are some things they can't be blamed for (old and disintegrating water pipe system in London) and some they can (possibly, lack of sufficient staff to deal with leaks, maybe due to trying to save money to give their shareholders more. But this is just surmise on my part - I know nothing about Thames Water).
    • Originally when the Community Notice Boards were installed, one key opened all within a certain area. As these got vandalised,, new locks were put on and keys changed.
