I would like to add that I used Billy recently after reading this thread and seeing him on checkatrade and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Really nice guy, friendly and punctual. Gave me his advice on a few small matters before removing a radiator from a wall at a reasonable cost. Has also provided me a quote to install two new radiators and without doubt am going to instruct him to finish the job. Thanks. Details as above.

Billy just completed a fairly complicated new boiler install (new pipework, complex routing) at our house. He did an excellent job, was very punctual, tidy, friendly, helpful and I'd very much recommend him. He very much went the extra mile to do a great piece of work.

Billy replaced my ageing boiler with a much more efficient one. He also removed the old water cylinder as it is now redundant. There was a new place for the boiler in the kitchen. He did an exceptionally neat and clean job. Even with the need for him to run new pipes to the kitchen, you can see its a really tidy job. I'm really pleased with the work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him!

I'd Like to add further praise and recommendation for Billy Hunter, he has just refitted some heating pipes and radiator valves and decommissioned some old gas and water pipes in our flat. The work was done very efficiently and the site was possibly left cleaner than before he started!

As an architectural technician I'm quite familiar with building sites and construction standards and can attest to the quality workmanship of the pipe fittings. I would highly recommend Hunter plumbing solutions.

I'd also like to praise Billy. He came out today - the same day I called him - to fix our broken boiler. He fixed the problem quickly and spotted that the boiler hadn't been installed properly so he fixed that too. Would absolutely recommend him and we would use him again.

Another recommendation for Billy - I found him on here last year and he has since installed a new boiler, radiators and pipework throughout my flat. Everything has been done to a very high standard and he stuck firmly to the price and schedule given at the start. He's also unfailingly cheerful, polite and tidy in his work. Highly recommended.

I'd like to post another hearty recommendation for Billy. He replaced our boiler last week, which meant relocating it, doing a fair bit of pipework and upgrading our gas piping all the way from the outside meter.

Billy is punctual, friendly and tidy and thinks his way around a problem. There were no nasty surprises with the bill and he also replaced a radiator and is coming back to do another one soon.

I can't recommend him enough, a vast improvement on the last heating company we used in our old place and we wouldn't hesitate to call on him again.

Billy fitted a new boiler for us last week and I can whole heartedly recommend him. He's a perfectionist and does an excellent job. Not only that he helped secure our house for us when the builders left it without a back wall. He goes above and beyond and I'm looking forward to seeing him for our annual services for years to come.
I want to reaffirm the endorsements for Hunter Heating Solutions - they are excellent! Scott Hunter came out to check our leaky boiler and did a fantastic job. He was really organised- gathering information from me beforehand about boiler details/photos etc, arrived bang on time, gave me a good quote, worked hard to fix the problem(which he did) and is a really nice guy as well. Heartily recommend him.
Another ringing endorsement for Billy at Hunter Heating Solutions. Saw him recommended on the forum and was really happy with the work he did (serviced boiler, fitted new thermostat and explained very patiently how to use it, and balanced all the radiators). He was punctual, tidy and a very nice chap! We will definitely use him again for any heating related jobs.

I would also like to add positive feedback for Billy at Hunter Heating Solutions. He recently upgraded my heating system from a conventional to combi system, installing a new boiler as well as replacing a few radiators and changing all of the radiator valves in the house. The job was completed to a high standard, on time and to budget. He is also very tidy and punctual.

I?m glad we chose Billy to complete our job and would definitely recommend him.

I can also highly recommend Billy Hunter. He is very friendly and has squeezed us in even though he had a full diary. He has done a great job and finally our heating system is running properly. We will definetively use him again if we ever have any plumbing issues in the future.

I've just had a boiler fitted yesterday by Billy Hunter - really pleased with the advice and quote - all fully itemised. When he came to install the boiler he found he didn't need to do as much as initially thought in upgrading pipework so he revised the quote so he finished sooner and under budget too! Highly recommended!

After finding his details on here, Billy and his brother have recently finished a complete re-plumb of my heating system including the installation of a new unvented cylinder and boiler in the loft. They worked very hard, including a number of hot (and no doubt unpleasant) days working in the loft during hot weather to get it done pretty much in a week -which was quick given the size of the job. I can completely agree with the comments above- Billy was excellent. He was great at communication, providing ideas and suggesting ways of doing things/ options that were cheaper at the beginning and also throughout the project giving updates etc. He was nice to have around, took care of the house and was completely trustworthy. When he came to quote you could tell that he thought about what he was doing and what the work would entail and the work came in on budget apart from one small addition which he communicated early and got approval for before going ahead and was beyond his control.

Billy also went over and above what we discussed by doing nice things like including a pressure gauge and ability to increase water pressure on the ground floor as well as in the loft- means that I can top up boiler pressure as and when I bleed the radiators without having to go into the loft each time- a very nice touch. Finally he recently came back to finish the job off which was hugely appreciated.

Highly recommended.

I would also like to recommend Billy. He has just today replaced our old rusty radiator with a heated crome towel rail in our bathroom. He was fantastic and extremely helpful, also showing me how to bleed the radiators and check the pressure of the boiler. It looks like a new bathroom in there! I would highly recommend him.

Ahead of carrying out a loft conversion, we had some concern that our existing water pressure would not cope with the additional bathrooms we were having made. After reading reviews about Billy Hunter on edf I called him and he took his time to give me some good advice on how to improve water pressure. We decided to pick Billy for the job. He installed an unvented cylinder for us and upgraded our pipework. I also agree with other reviewers that he went over and above expectations by pointing out and fixing other plumbing issues unrelated to the task at hand. (For us, it was that the boiler flue installed was not positioned to regulation distance). We were really happy with the job Billy did and wouldn't hesitate to seek out his services again.

    • That's actually why the Sherlock Holmes stories were so popular. There was so little crime people found it exciting to imagine robberies and murders happening in London.
    • Yes, because of course there were no violent robberies in the olden days. Pretty much no crime happened at all I believe through the entire Victorian era.
    • Hi all, Im a Southwark council leaseholder and live downstairs in a ground floor flat, there is one flat above me, it's a house with individual front doors leading from the street into the shared pathway. My neighbour told me he has had a ring doorbell installed, no discussion as to how I would feel being on camera everytime I go in and out or in my front garden. I was told it's only for deliveries and doesn't record and only activates when pressed, however I don't know this and I feel really uncomfortable everytime I'm out in garden or on doorstep talking to people. Everytime I walk in/out, it lights up and in the eve it has a  infra red  light. Now I've read up that as he said its only for deliveries, he could set it so it only activates when pressed, however it activates with its motion sensor. Had he said to me about getting it installed, I could have had the opportunity to ask about it recording etc but nothing except it's being installed and when I arrived home it was there. I don't like being horrible to people however I feel I have not been considered in his decision and I feel very uncomfortable as, some times I have to stand on doorstep to get signal for my mobile and I really don't like the idea of being watched and listened to. Has anyone got any advice as I'm beginning to get angry as I've asked about it once and was told it only activates when pressed. I believe this is not true. I know southwark council say you need to ask permission to make sure the neighbours are OK with it, I don't really want to go down that road but I don't know how to approach the subject again. They also put a shed approx 3 foot from my back room window, these places are built so my window faces their rear garden and there upstairs window  faces mine. They said it's there temporarily, that was over a year ago and it does affect the light, plus I'm hoping to sell up soon and the view from window is mainly a dark brown shed. When I've mentioned this, I was told they have no where else to put it, whereas originally they said its only temporary, Also the floorboards above are bare and I get woke early morning and at night, the thudding is so bad my light shakes and window rattles, so I mentioned this and asked if they have rugs, I was told when they get the boards re sanded they will get rugs, I should have asked if they could get rugs and just take them up when boards being done, which I would have done had it been me living above someone, their attitude was I can just put up with it until they are ready. so they had the floor boards done, and the workmen was hammering screws, yes screws, in the floorboards, I spoke to workmen to ask how much longer and they said yes, are using screws to make less noise! I could hear the cordless screwdriver, not an issue but for every screw there were at least 8 whacks, the owners had gone out to avoid the noise  so I  spoke to workmen as the noise was unbearable, the sanding, not an issue at all, people need to get things done to their home and I'm fine that on occasions there will be temporary noise. now I have a nice crack on my bedroom ceiling, I mentioned this to owner but no response, he said there were alot of loose floorboards and it will be much better now, not so noisy, as though I don't know the difference between squeaking floor boards and thudding, and nothing was mentioned re the crack or that they now have rugs, which if it were me, I'd be trying to resolve the issue so we can get on with feeling happy in our homes. so I'm feeling it's a total lack of consideration. these places are old and Edwardian and I've lived here over 40 years, had 4 different neighbours and it's only now the noise of thudding is really bad and the people before had floorboards but nothing like this. As you can probably tell I'm really wound up and I don't want to end up exploding at them, I've always got on with neighbours and always said if there's a problem with my dog, pls let me know, always tell me, however I feel it's got to the point where I say something and I'm fobbed off. I know I should tell them but I'm angry, perhaps I should write them a letter. Any suggestions greatly appreciated and thank you for reading my rant.
