Russell T Davies has previously said he would like Russell Tovey from the History Boys should be the next Doctor. He's quite young though, not sure if he would carry the right gravitas.

Much as I love James Nesbitt, I am not sure I could see him in the role. He is always going to be Adam Williams from Cold Feet to me.

I realise that I have not commented on the forum for a week or two, but it has been half term after all. I cannot believe that no-one put my name forward for the role. I would be the perfect Doctor Who. I would have Michael Palaentologist for my trusty sidekick and Batdog for my K9. It would be perfect. We could raise the profile of Dulwich for all the world to see. I would bring glamour and lip gloss to the role, slapping the legs of any baddies who dared to turn up.

michael maloney. my vote but doubt it'd be him. for me, where they go wrong is by not choosing someone other worldy and kind of, old school scientific. Recent guy did a good job of the role but I dunno, felt like the original 4 doctors had an authority about them.Even now.

I think the 'our boys in afghanistan' type music is not right either. bbc radiophonic is, was so strong and made that show individual and groundbreaking visually and audiowise. So for me its sack the management re think. Sure the youth of today enjoy the show its hugely popular. But then again, get it right and they'll have nightmares for life. Like the 60 kids did.

Those sweaty yeti and that horrible (fantastic)sound..

Bet you theres a modern day delia derbyshire out there. for example some of those loonies up at birmingham university that work with 'beast sound system' for sonic arts.

As a teenager the music of dr who and other electronic music inspired me so much I tried to get an electronic music course going at goldsmiths. 1976 or so must have been. failed! Bet theres one there now. Im hardline dr who nut. Havent been able to watch it since tom baker. sorry. tried. not hard enough.

my 10p rant.

Hi locals. which reminds me. v neat lunch at Locale goose green. recommend. need somewhere to take mum. there works.

    • Another recommendation for Nick. Copying below the review I have just left for him on Google: We don’t usually leave reviews for people online but are making an exception for Nick. He made fitted wardrobes for our loft conversion and did an absolutely fantastic job. The wardrobes are beautiful. Nick is passionate about producing a quality product, and also one that is bespoke to his clients’ needs. He guided us through the design to establish how we would actually use the space and built something that is fantastic. From start to finish the process was quick and each day he and his assistant Sean left the space tidy. I’m not sure we are easy people to please so the fact we are leaving a 5* review (indeed leaving a review at all) speaks volumes about what a great job Nick (and Sean) did. Nick also built a cupboard for our downstairs bathroom as part of the job and again it is brilliant. We would recommend them to anybody.
