It is - they're building a listening station underneath.

It's to spy on Trump.

The Crown & Greyhound

There is still no confirmation of an opening date. There have been further delays on the handover of the base building and we now expect the pub to re-open sometime in June. The continuing delays reflect very badly on the Dulwich Estate.

It's going to be a typical chain middle of the road job serving up average food at expensive prices, which will trump anything drinker/pub related. So we end up with a crap restaurant and a small below average boozer on one side, probably smaller in area and drinks available.

or pop back to the pub if you forget all your stuff

I've done it :)

It's nice in summer to go for a walk to somewhere you wouldn't usually go very often. The Dog falls into this category from my side of East Dulwich, with a nice garden out the front to enjoy a drink on a long walk. That option has been removed and very much missed the last few summers. Half Moon can fill that gap now.

I've lived in Peckham and Dulwich all my life...

Most of my drinking life I drank in Blackheath.. Lee.. Bromley.. Chislehurst... Beckenham..

Greenwich... Charlton... Deptford... Brockley..

More adventurous than you may think.. I'm done with all that now..

Dulwich Estate is shocking. Allowed Shepherds to close without a successor, pubs all closed for years at a time...

Does that mean you won't go?

I'll still stop by for a drink on a long walk, why not? Presumably they'll keep the beer garden out the front.

from this morning..

Good morning Kevin

We are hoping to handover the pub to our tenants on the 18 April to enable them to start their fit out. I anticipate that the pub will then be open in June.

The delay at the current time is a live electricity cable in the basement that needs disconnecting by UKPN and they have given us a date of the 11 April for this to take place.

Regards

Adrian

    • Another recommendation for Niko. Great communication, top guy, and super reliable and skilled - all at a fair price. Takes a lot of care in what he does and talks you through everything.
    • Some foxes are very tame. The foxes that live near the electricity sub-station thing on the corner of Calton and Woodwarde will happily walk up to you/passed you. They are some of the best looking foxes around so clearly being well-fed - glorious coats and bushy tails but interested in humans and keen to engage/be fed rather than being scared.
