Torres has 46 goals in 64 premiership starts if he scores 4 against Chelsea! He will equal andy cole's record of fastest to fifty. Not bad for someone who doesn't take penalties

Only 73 points Quids - 7 down on last week, damn!

Someone actually had 74 (without Torres, who got me 34 pts) and looking at their team they still have Given and Barry to get them points tomorrow night!

Not seen Torres that composed in front of goal - looks like he has stepped up to a brand new level. Be interesting what Chelsea have in store next week (apart from kicking him) especially since Petr Cech is suspended.

Turned on Goals on Sunday this morning and to my surprise there was no Phil Brown sitting on the Sky sofa!

92 games, 58 goals

League: 46 in 64

I feel so priviliged to have him in our team and also to watch him week in week out. The best part is he totally gets Liverpool football club and comes across as being really down to earth.

The night we battered Real Madrid 4-0 at Anfield

Looking at the Champions League games this week none of them really ignite the imagination unless perhaps it's your own team. But if I had to pick out one clash as a potential thriller it would be Man United versus the German Champions Wolfsburg at Old Trafford on Wednesday. With United playing 3 days later against a confident Sunderland I suspect Fergie may put out a little bit of a squad / first team mix in CL and maybe, just maybe, could be a surprise result on the cards, and that is my big prediction of the week United to lose on Wednesday night!
Interesting article in the Times this morning naming 50 people to have "fouled" up football, among them Ian Wright, Rooney, the fake Ronaldo, Martin Edwards, George Best, Bill Shankly, El Tel, Mourhino, Cashley Hole, Drogaba among others. Interesting argument.

Steve Bruce fumming that Darren Bent decided to pass penalty duties to a team mate after he scored first penalty... what a tit blabbering to the press when he himself is too scared to watch actual penalties being taken. Maybe Bruce is trying to sound like a hard man with a trip to Old Trafford on Saturday where of course he'll show his usual bottle when deciding his tactics for the game... 'note to self must not upset uncle fergie or will not get reference for united job in 3 years time blah blah'.

In normal circumstances I would be right behind Eastenders to beat Citeh tonight, but recently any fondness I may have had for Zola et all has disappeared more quiclky than Ferguson after being asked by the BBC for an interview, thanks to the rantings of ten bob note.

    • But is it the Village councillors who are maintaining the board, or someone else? When the boards in East Dulwich were installed, it wasn't the councillors who kept the information up to date, it was Monica from Health Matters, who was greatly involved in various  community matters (eg the building of the community garden at what was then Dulwich Hospital). I can't remember if it was her who initiated the installation of the boards in the first place. She no longer lives in East Dulwich, and nobody else appears to be willing to liaise with the councillors and community related organisations  to take this on for the various East Dulwich boards.  It would hardly take much effort. Basic information doesn't frequently change (and no, I'm not volunteering. I am overstretched as it is). It's all very well to  get a physical  community notice board spruced up, but not much use if it then isn't being used for its intended purpose. And I can't see that it is part of a councillor's job to update notice boards which they didn't initiate in the first place. I'm sure they have more than enough to do.  The notice boards serve (or did do) a useful service, but all the information which could be put on them is surely available elsewhere. (Unless it is bringing to people's attention things which are of use/interest to them and they weren't aware they needed/would like, or didn't know how else to find the information). ETA: Oh. I've just read the beginning of this thread. I'd forgotten how it started. It's gone well off topic, hasn't it. Probably just as well, reading the OP.
    • The board in the Village (just near the pub) is in pristine condition, full of council-related information (though someone had stuck a flyer on the glass, now removed). Maybe the councillors there actually CBA to make use of a facility that took time, effort and taxpayers’ money to instal?
