Sir Alex Ferguson has hit out at referee Alan Wiley, accusing the Staffordshire official of "not being fit enough" to do his job.

Wiley, the fourth official for last month's controversial Manchester derby, was in charge at Old Trafford on Saturday as an injury-time own-goal from Anton Ferdinand salvaged United a point against Sunderland in a 2-2 draw.

Ferguson claimed Wiley had not played the correct amount of added time because he had failed to add on an additional minute to the four already signalled once United scored.

Disappointed

"I was disappointed with the referee," said Ferguson.

"He didn't add on any time for the goal. He played four minutes and two seconds.

"He was also walking up the pitch for the second goal needing a rest. He was not fit enough for a game of that standard.

"The pace of the game demanded a referee who was fit. He was not fit. It is an indictment of our game.

"You see referees abroad who are as fit as butcher's dogs. We have some who are fit. He wasn't fit.

"He was taking 30 seconds to book a player. He was needing a rest. It was ridiculous."

Ferguson conceded his side did not play well and he was not happy with Sunderland's second goal when Kenwyne Jones outjumped Ben Foster to head home.

"It was a soft goal to lose," added Ferguson.

"Our passing was very poor in the first half. In the end we needed to show

some great qualities to get something out of the game on a day when we played really badly."

Blah blah, I'm a scouser etc, but it really is dispicable. Rafa gets in trouble for taking off his glasses. Don't even get me started on Ferguson flapping around on the touch line swearing and blinding about the ref.

Don't even get me started on Ferguson

I think you have got started on Ferguson Anna ...

If Liverpool can do the business over Chelsea tomorrow and Arsenal also win - there is virtually nothing between the top 4 teams.

[so get you money on "Arsenal-Nah", now, c'mon the Venger Bhoys]

Are you upset Anna? :))

As I said in a previous post maybe some other premiership managers should grow a pair, when did Rafa get in trouble for his glasses? That's hilarious. The ref did blow up a bit prematurely yesterday, there is supposed to be an additional 30 secs for a goal scored so it was a bit short, but we got our equaliser so that's ok. ;-)

Looking forward to this afternoons game. Hoping for a draw but a result for Chelsea that eve Liverpool four points behind would be good too.

Cheers Quids, we both need to get our house in order. Looks like we are to be flipped next week to the Al Faraj brothers which should help! A lot of people I know in the know reckon West Ham are in the same plight as PFC, just not playing it out in the media.

Hopefully both clubs will pull through. My dad was a West Ham boy so I have a lot of time for them (2nd club really)

Maybe Ferguson is still holding a grudge against Wiley for the 4 league games he took charge of United last season when United lost 3 and drew 1. Maybe if Fergie hadn't hugged Wiley in front of the cameras at the Man City game then Wiley would indeed have played another 30 seconds due to the late goal 'celebration' but with that in mind he was always going to blow on exactly 4 minutes.
No I thought the two goal margin was a bit flattering too. And Liverpool should have had a penalty at 0-0....And Drogba still falls over more easily than an 18 month old. I felt a bit sorry for Torres coming up against an excellent Chelsea defence straight after the Hull game though!

I watched most of the Ski game and it seems if anyone tackles Drogba he is in mortal danger. Give me Arse any day for pure uncomplicated and beautiful football. I'm a ManU fan but realise we are not 'there' yet and may never be with the players we have. As Hanson said 'you win nothing with kids'. He was wrong and I don't see MU,Ski or L'pool being stronger this year.

Arse have the kids and just may do it. Wonder what the odds are?

Ha ha ha ha ha. Green tinted specs?? A very, very poor Rangers team with 3 key players missing, 2 forced substitutions through injury still beat you. We are bad... but you lot are even worse.. this will kick start our season hopefully.

52-42.

    • Well hello Manor men, I went to PM from 74-79. I was in O and Churchill. I can’t remember my tutor but do remember a number of bods. I’ve read a number of posts here about PM and recognise some things. Mudway was an arse. Hardly ever changed his suit.  Guys I remember are Alan Palmer, Wayne Peck ( had an older brother at the school and I think lived Peckham Road, Longleigh House), Owen McClery, Junior Gayle(Wing Chung master), David Banton , Steven Green ( I think he had green eyes), Rodney Evelyn, David Barton, Raymond Gillman (deceased), Neil Warner, Horace Marshaleck (deceased), Steven Watson (two years younger) I have a picture somewhere of the school winning a cross country event against other schools in the South London Press I think.  Teachers - Miss Pugh, Mr and Mrs Webster, Mr Thomas, New French teacher 1978/79 Miss Anspach, Mr Baugh, Mr Nelson, Mr Patel, Mr Sparks, Mr Dowse, African PE teacher, hard as nails, Mr Fenton for careers, Mr Kemel Also, my brother attended Adrian Lewis, a year younger.
    • One gentleman who kept the boards up to date with community notices i.e. local residents' association events, East Dulwich Community Centre, sadly died a few years ago. He never had the keys to the NX Rd board as this was outside his ward (now known as Dulwich Hill). The council changed the locks on the boards and we do not know who was given the keys. The gentleman's widow carries on with posting community notices but only on the odd couple of boards whose locks have been broken and she can lift the cover. If I remember correctly, it was the Lib. Dem councillors in ED that initiated the boards.
    • Thanks, that’s very sensible advice  and I’ll most likely follow it. I shouldn’t need anything from them, and if anything, they may end up needing me as they’re likely to go first. Really appreciate your support.
