We are in trying times at the moment but are we still generally upbeat?

Is the cup half full or half empty. Good things that have happened this week are:

1.The Estate I work on granted me another years permit to park.

2.The car problem was minor and lovely AA man fixed it in a jiffy.

3.Mr D can have Master D Saturady to allow me to go out for boozy lunch Saturday with girl friends.

4.My favourite juice drink'is buy one get one free

Half full for me, if I knew you Jah I would certainly have bought you a drink...

1. I didnt get made redundant, although sadly thousands from our place have.

2. I managed to get through 14 miles of pounding the streets for my marathon training, 8 more to do on Sunday though...

3. I saved over ?200 on my car insurance for the year thanks to moneysupermarket.

4. Managed to eat curry two nights during the week, one homemade which was fantastic.

Over half full:

1. Still have a job even if it's only part-time

2. boss wants to pay for my accreditation eams (and can ask for a pay rise when I pass with flying colours)

3. credit crunch hasn't really his me cos I only ever use a debit card and don't have a mortgage!

4. Used to being broke so no depressing downturn for me!!!

5. Just discovered crashpadder.com for extra money to put people up on my sofa -woopeee it's spilling over for me now!!!!

Thats shite, sorry. Is there not a little slither of a silver lining. Or does every silver lining have a cloud?

1) Well I work in the finance industry as a systems engineer, there is no sign of a credit crunch for me HAHA. Im an integral part of the survival mechanism, they still need to opperate.

Because the vendor I work for is a major unix house, I can go anywhere in my job, which means finance, comms and media and anything inbetween.

2) Got a new job, so I wont be doing Nightshift anymore. Hooray, more time to play....

3) Saved ?250 on my car insurance, I have 6 years no claims, the swines quoted ?604, so laters to that.

Happy Dayz!!!!!

No Bonus this year, bit of a downer, thats what happens when you lend money you dont have to people who cant afford to pay it back EEK.......

Miserable bastard.

My cup runneth over!

Getting really excellent wages for doing a really cushy, real easy, stress free job, (no I'm not on the game!) and have been told by bosses the firm and my job are as safe as houses! (though did turn down promotion and training for higher more involved position as don't want to be working full time at mo or spending late nights working at the office, or finishing off the training for it just yet, I actually want a life!)

My mortgage repayments are half of what most people pay for their rent, and the house is mine completely in -4 years and counting! Not even "old" yet!

Booked and paid for a holiday last year for this year at a cost of ?900 to find out same holiday is now selling for ?1,600

Have not and never will possess a credit card, if I haven't got the money to buy it, I go without, has always been my motto.

Yup life is looking ok at the mo.

Yeah forgot about that one last year, got a wicked bonus just before xmas and a ?3k payrise (mind you I bet they are kicking themselves now!) Doubt we'll be so lucky this year tho!

Half empty right now -- I never order a Pizza, and for a treat I order one, it still hasn't arrived after 1 hour 40 minutes!!!! I ring up to check and they get all narky with ME!! B'tards -- I'm starving :(

But when it does come I'll be more than half full yum yum

    • @CPR Dave He needs to communicate collectively with all of the beneficiaries.  That is the whole point of my original post.  Electronic communications are the best way of doing this, as I am doing now on this forum.  Apart from the gold digger who will get a six figure sum the rest of us are on four figures, and that is going down by the day. I'm offended by any suggestion that we are not behaving well.  What on earth do you mean?
    • Surprise, surprise. It didn't take them long, did it. This will be something of a test as to how much the council really care about parks and the environment. A footfall of 60,000. Are they mad? There is no way this park is designed for or can sustain that sort of use. Just had a look at the schedule. If allowed to go ahead, this will involve a large slice of the park (not the common) sectioned off and out of use for three weeks of May and the first week of June. Here's an idea, why not trial the festival in one of the other Southwark Parks, so the 'goodness' can be shared around the borough?
    • There was another unprovoked attack on Monday this week on a young woman nearby (Anstey Road) at 6.45pm. Don't have any other details, it was posted on a Facebook group by her flatmate. Pretty worrying  https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EGfDrCAST/
    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.
