I just wondered if anyone has had or thought about having colonic irrigation.

I understand that it can have benefits and i have considered it but to tell he truth it also sounds scary and very unpleasant.

When i have discussed it with people the majority have said that they too have thought about it and would like to have it done but the idea of litres of water being spurted up your...., (well you know what i mean)is not very nice.

If i thought it had benefits then i might overcome my reservations.

Anyone feel the same or have had it done. Does it have real benefits?

Am i alone in my curiosity.

Oh Eliza.D dear,

I have been toying with the idea for years, but essentially, what holds me back (despite the animated promises from practitioners of results including clear skin and sparkling eyes) is that this area of the body is an exit and not an entrance (shakes head sympathetically). No, really. It is just not very Dulwich.

It is not for everyone sweetie. God only knows what kind of damage could be done by an inadequately trained, over zealous practitioner. I should imagine it would cause they eyes to water and not sparkle at all...

You could find yourself on the slippery slope towards reiki healing and aromatherapy, and before you know it, you would be keeping crystals in your pocket and talking rubbish about "auras".

Now, lets change the subject sweetie. Can I offer anyone a drink?

And no, I don't have any green tea.

I think I had it last night after 5 pints down the Rye and no food for 20 hours.

Either that or I am melting from the inside out.

Seriously though, not had it myself, not sure I want to have it as it still carries the stigmata of being something 'fellows who swing the other way' get done and I am not sure the benefits out way the embarrassment of having it performed.

If you want a good 'Mud out' Eliza I suggest you get down the curry house and have Vindaloo followed by at least 12 pints of ale. After the following 'event' the next morning I advise you consult a G.P over the issue of 'tearing injuries' you may or may not have sustained. Just a thought.

I had this done a few years ago, one of those mad moments " I wonder what that is like " did it in holborn area all very nice and relaxed, the pipe is approx 5mm wide and goes in 3cm ( too much info but nice to know beforehand ) so they pump water in and you just relax and then it just kinda comes out. You do feel very full and want to push it out, do not do this it can get very messy. So after 15 mins of flushing around the nice lady comes in and lets you know what you have been eating and how you should chew ye food a bit more. 15 mins later on the scooter and feeling a bit flush. No side effects and felt somehow lighter? would not repeat as not sure why I did it in the first place.

Colonic Irrigation tick

They are in Nunhead - not too far away. I have had a colonic there and it helped sort out my digestive problems.

Yes, it is true that our bodies cleanse themselves all the time, but a little help can speed things up and move things along better ... yes, yes I read the bit about the curry but I think this is a kinder method ... it saved me from having to see my GP

Well I've had a couple and it was great, people get too obsessed with the process and having a pretty small tube up your bum sorry if TMI, but today's diet contains a lot of stuff that doesn't really digest properly that a good clean out is cleansing. My skin was amazing afterwards, eyes really bright and I felt quite energised, I have had friends though who have felt quite emotional so I guess everyone if different. It's like a fresh start if you have been not looking after yourself too well.

I would recommend going to a proper health place not just a beauty place.

Let's face it if it's an embarassment factor, if you are a women who has a bikini wax, it's on a par with that for letting your inhibitions go but less painful.

I'm sure I could make an Arse-Nil joke out of this given sufficient time/imagination.

AI suggests: Upcycling old cheque books can involve repurposing the paper from old checks into creative items like notebooks, journals, art pieces, gift tags, bookmarks, decorative paper, or even small boxes, by cutting, decorating, and assembling the paper to create new functional or decorative objects, while ensuring any personal banking information is properly obscured or removed.
