Quite obvious that you're connected in some way with Ollivelli...

Looks pretty much like any relatively affluent London area to me. As long as the places are good then why not? (And not all of them are.)

Well I'm not sure about 'odd restaurant street' but it looking a bit like a 'Holiday Destination'

with a disproportional amount of Restaurant outlets to other shops.

Given how hard it is to get a reservation on a weekend, the number of restaurants simply reflects how much people here and nearby like to eat

Lordship Lane has a similar number of eateries as most vibrant high streets.

Best of all, in addition to the restaurants, the general area still has multiple supermarkets, two DIY shops, a locksmith, multiple dry cleaners, launderettes, a fabric shop, a plumbing shop, gift and card shops, a few clothes shops, charity shops, multiple flower shops / garden shop, kitchen design place, a few homes good stores, several pubs / bars, a new cinema, two gyms, a pilates studio, a tile shop, a tennis club (near south end of LL), squash courts (near the big Sainsburys), architects, law offices, MOT garage, a car wash, a sash window firm, the joiners on North Cross road, multiple vets, a Gymboree for kids, nurseries, churches and other places of worship, doctors offices and dentists, optometrists, a few jewelers, various beauty salons, barbers, picture framers, nail shops, pharmacies, a fish monger a butcher, multiple wine and craft beer shops, a nice Saturday market, a carpet and flooring specialist, the little gallery, two bike shops, book stores, Delis, bakers / cake shops, pet shop, news agent, a podiatrist, physiotherapist and more I?m sure I?m forgetting?

The area is simply incredibly well served with a wealth of businesses in addition to the other amenities within easy access such as Dulwich Park, Peckham Rye Park and Common, Dulwich Woods, Dulwich Picture Gallery, and the Horniman Museum.

The area isn?t unbalanced, holiday etc. It?s a vibrant area providing lots of services.

    • As said, why are you not eating humble pie for a non-story? I expect that scores of landlords are unaware or made mistakes in this territory.  And this is not just the Chancellor but a married couple.  It feels like you and others are taking joy in demonising her. The only question would be is the house suitable for renting out?  I expect it is, and if not that is up to Southwark to take action rather than keyboard warriors.  The only surprises are the expense of licensing - surely time for a thread on "is licensing a money maker for local authorities?".  I'm being facetious.  And that the cost of rental, which feels fairly reasonable based on this area. By all means go after rogue landlords.  Be my guest.  I was horrified to see some of the properties rented in London and beyond by family members.  Not all bad. Oh and another question.  Haven't I got better things to do than comment on this 'no story here' thread?  😁
