Do you ever send someone a text precisely because you don't have time, inclination etc to actually talk to them on the phone at that precise moment and then.....instead of texting you back, they PHONE you almost the very second they receive your text. I find this unbelievably annoying, I must say. Thanks for listening.

If the reason you're sending a text is because you can't / won't talk at the moment then say so in the text.

I phone people because I like them and I like to talk to people I like. If for whatever reason I can't / don't want to talk to them, I let them know so they don't think me rude.

Also, much like emails, it's usually a hell of a lot quicker actually just to talk to someone that it is to type out some dullard little message. Especially if it involves arrangements going back and tediously forth...

No because I will start by saying NTTT i.e. No Time To Talk and once people know our code they do not ring.

What annoys me is the legion of Women I have known who flash or text me as they have no credit and want me to ring them straight back....

Woman did just that today and she is forever telling me how much money she has and she does not know what to do with it.

Spend it on some credit and stop taking the pizzicato...;-)

delightful company you keep. Ho's who not only don't qualify for a contract phone but also can't afford credit on their chavvy pay as you go jobbies. Klassy as feck.

I hate texting. Big fat fingers and an alcoholic's shake.

Don't send text if you don't want to talk to me.

Don't use technology if you're too skint to pay for it, knock on the door instead.

On that note, don't cultivate friendships in far away places if you don't have the bus fare.

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
