Brendan
I am of the opinion that Roger Federer should be captain of the England and Wales cricket team Ted. ????
yup Brendan - I don't rate Strauss as a captain, too defensive and we need more than that against these Aussies Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6921-the-ashes-2009/page/2/#findComment-222176 Share on other sites

matthew123
I hear Rick Ponting is expecting the Home crowd to support Australia.. I guess he thinks it's a Rugby match. In cricket England are in effect the U.K. in all but name. I'll be very surprised if the Home support get behind Australia.England have won the toss and will open the batting. Brendan
Well isn?t that nice for them. Funnily enough I was in the Walkabout a few weeks back* and I saw loads of Englishmen trying to get on top of Aussies. *Not by choice I might add. DaveR
Collingwood out. I'm a bit worried about how we match up against the Aussies at 6/7/8 - if Prior, Flintoff and Broad can't stick around with KP for a while, and get some runs themselves, we're going to be in trouble. Marmora Man
Neither side looks that good. Wicket is a bit plodding so no great shots - opinion seems to be that it will turn later. Bowling doesn't look too dangerous. Score creeping up in singles and twos. England need to make another 100 to be on top and ideally another 150, then see if our bowling line up can get more from the wicket or our spinners can make whoopee on a turning wicket. Sherwick
Geez. Only one day gone and already seems like it'll be as bad on the old ticker as the 2005 series. One moment we're on top then next they're on top. Then we wrestle back the advantage only to lose it again.
