This people of this Forum, having handed Tony his arse so many times, have run out of plates upon which to serve said item.

Most recently, Tony was even handed his arse on a plate on the seemingly innocuous "Present for a 30 year old bloke" thread.

Unfortunately, this was the last plate in the place. Tony, please stop, or we're going to have to start using the special Christmas plates, the picnic set, and the commemorative Charles 'n' Di set that Granny gave us in 1981.

Explanation on the Bono hating thread.

Eno, who has assumed the role of musical director, shouts out tempo changes, instructions, suggestions. "The chords sound a little too vanilla," he says of one laid-back, swampy groove. Bono, who has a couch all to himself, concurs. "We need to find that nightclub-in-Tripoli feel," he shouts back, swaying to the beat, "then move it on down to Bamako."

Ted, once again you've disappointed me and many others on this forum with a frankly half arsed attempt at suggesting a platform in which to serve up Tony's crinkly bottom. Although to be fair you have pioneered a fitting end game to Tony's downfall but I fear that you haven't come up with a celebration to fit those jubilee occasions when a damning checkmate is called on his arguement.

May I make a suggestion?

For when Tony's arse is handed to him on a skewer can we have a Tony.London Suburbs dinner set for those special occasions, you know, like when his 75% claim was called into question. All the plates will have B) painted in the middle that when the food is placed on the heat morphs the image so that once the dish is finished the dinner is greated with a :X , do you see where I'm going with this or do you want to make a suggestion?

"Hide them in a hiding place where no one ever goes

The pantry is the best place for your arse plates

It's a little secret, just the Robinsons' affair

Most of all, you've got to hide them from the kids"

They do indeed Brendan, but I've checked with them and the crockery comes with the above instructions, they are strictly for adult usage only.

It's commendable of MR to take such a responsible attitude to the wee ones welfare.

The only recent time that I have argued against the serried ranks of The EDF was over the immigration issue where I argued, primarily, that:

1/ While people should like and respect ALL people, irrespective of their culture, that people of a similar culture naturaly prefer to also be with people of their culture ( with exceptions, of course ).

This blatantly obvious and natural for the overwhelming majority of people.

I also said that many areas of Inner London, in particular, the demographic is changing rapidly and that many of those areas will be "minority White/British" in the near future and more still will become "minority White/British" in the period of time after that.

Some on here disputed that this blatant "truism" wasn't the case, though in most "gatherings of choice" that clearly IS the case. Obviously in racially diverse areas there will be every kind of person at a Bus Stop/Bank/Shop/Workplace etc but the "test" is "

"Will people of different cultures CHOOSE to be together on some kind of regular basis when they do not need to and are not thrown together in the above settings" ??

Some prominent Posters ( usual suspects) were arguing, for example, that they "just happened" to live in streets that were mostly "Asian" in their case and would not admit that an area where they has lived WAS indeed predominantly Asian.

NOW through the wondrous joys of serendipity what do I discover from 2 years ago on here? :))

Seema asked me to start a new thread re Goose Green Dulwich Festival:

I looked at the pix from last year. What struck me was how 'PLU" (people like us) it was. I know that ED has a certain demographic, but I'd say 90% were white, 20-50 somethings. There are black and asian people living around here, but why are they not there? I rarely see ethnic minorities in The Palmerston, Black Cherry, Caffe Nero, Jacks, etc. It disturbs me and makes me feel uncomfortable about why this should be. Do the minorities feel excluded? Are there any ethnio minority EDF posters? Discuss. Nero

I THINK ALL CULTURES ARE DRAWN TO LIKE FOR LIKE - the fair next weekend for example won't have many of the white population who favour burberry caps and tracksuits - so it's more to do with that than ethnicity. Liqourish tends to have a sizeable non-caucasian customer base - if I arrange to meet some of my black friends that's where they suggest we meet.

Could be because it's new and doesn't have the history that places like EDT/Forresters(now Bishop) etc had. Actually The Bishop has a pretty darn diverse crowd so not sure about my last statement ....

Also, having lived in PREDOMINANTLY Asian areas of London ....

Teddy Boy I was NOT saying that it is RIGHT that many people want to be with "their own" or indeed its how it should be.

Ideally we should all freely mingle work and socialise together.

I was saying HOW IT IS !!!! and it seems that even my nemesis on that thread really agreed with me, after all.

He, and others, rightly, want us to "move forward" and change that and maybe, in more enlightened times we will, I was telling it HOW IT IS NOW !!

and "I" got my arse spanked??? LOL...

I'll be polite and not go into the hypocrisy of those comments above but I wonder if the likes of YOU and Hugsy and Sherwick et al will pick up on the, er, "inconsistently" of those statements....:))

Indeed the whole thread written 2 years ago is basically, saying, what I was saying....

LOL...Must send Teddy a "Thank You Gift" One of those plates, in fact, david...B)

Forgive him david for he doth know not what he do.." or summat lyke dat...

The more I think about this the more hilarious and surrealistic it seems.

I was giving example after example of showing how one's culture can be diluted or disappear altogether if an area has an influx of people from a totally different culture and that, in general, "like are drawn to like" and yet the Guys who seemed most reluctant to acknowledge or accept this basic premise were saying EXACTLY the same thing on EDF two or so years ago...embarassing ? hypocritical ? shameful ? You choose...:-$

    • General view is it is tokenistic from Iran, not looking to harm life but show that they are retaliating. Same thing happened after the earlier Israeli attack back in the distant part. There will be debate, even at the top of the Iranian authorities.  Israel even without the US hold the cards.  Although are in this position due to decades of US support. As per my post on the other thread much of the reason the world is in this position is botched US post second world war middle East policy.  Supporting both sides in the Iran/Iraq war being particularly striking Trump mark 1 emboldened the right wing in Israel, perhaps pushed Hammas to more extreme action, and led to the Iranians going rogue on nukes.  I think that the latter was to put them in a stronger position in opening up grade, a country not able to sell vast quantities of oil ,(and gas?) But how does the world move on from this mess? By all means give other views to my simplistic ones
    • The NYT ( that right wing alarmist rag) has reported that Iran told Qatar so they could prepare. Iran and Q are on good terms so Q won’t retaliate, esp as Iran is only targeting US bases, which everyone knew to expect.     If anything, it draws Qatar into the dialogue and Q will privately be urging Iran to back down.
    • If the Qatari's decide to retaliate then it's all going off...but I suspect the Iranians are hoping for this - one inaccurate missile and the Qatari's may have to. I think the Iranian leadership is working on fast-tracking their own demise and the Americans and Israeli's planning for regime change, maybe with the many political prisoners the Israelis tried to free from the Elvin prison today. What a mess but clearly Iran was becoming a big threat to not only Israel but many of the other Gulf States and was clearly doing scary stuff with nuclear weapons that required action.
