So here it is. 10,000 posts on the EDF (plus a few unregistered ones). This is what comes of losing all motivation in a job, but staying for a couple of years, then getting a new job, with lots of time to "work" from home.

Quite strange to think that when this forum started, I was neither married, or a dad. How things change!

Not sure what else to say. On the one hand, I feel a bit sad (in the "get a life" way) to be the first here. On the other, I am proud, as this forum, for all it's faults, is for the most part, a good thing. Besides, I did most of my posting during work time, so as to leave evenings for having a life! :)-D

So, cheers to everyone on the EDF, thanks for making me laugh, thanks for making me furious, thanks for making those office hours go by quicker.

I knew a couple of posters before (Piers being the only one who posts regularly these days, unless CrystalClear gets drunk and fancies letting off some steam in the early hours), but I have met some quality people through this here forum, a couple of whom I now count amongst my bezzie pals! For that, if nothing else, it has all been worth it.

Hurrah!!!! :)-D

I think it's a pretty safe bet that in 860 posts time when Sean has proved he's as much a man as Keef and the congats and back slapping come flowing forth, Sean will literally be bowing to his computer.

    • How do you know what the fox wanted to do if it didn’t do it.
    • Quote "it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me." Doesn't say clearly that it tried to bite you , but instead implies that you had the impression, right or wrong that it wanted to nip you.  unless you are clear others will read it how you write it.  As for being a jobsworth, what a quaint old expression, haven't heard that for a long while.
    • Crook locks can be sawn through, or the steering wheel to which it is attached, I know to my own cost. The safest additional security measure is what's called a ghost immobiliser, which cannot be traced through the car's electronics, meaning it is difficult to bypass. They cost a bomb however.
    • I’ve reported two instances of mobile phone theft to 999 in recent times. On both occasions several police units have arrived very quickly - in one case they found the perpetrator.
