Hi Jaiko,

Yes, the plan was for North Cross Road to be free of cars on market day from Lordship Lane to Archdale Road junction.

I haven't had a response to why this isn't implemented yet but as soon as I do will share here.

Hi natnat,

Woodwarde Road. I've reported this to the cleaning team asking if they can give it some focus. It is disgusting.

Good morning James.

I am so sorry to read the results of the local elections this morning. You have done a huge amount for East Dulwich over the years and it will be a huge loss for the community without you fighting our corner.

I only hope your succesor will put in a fraction of the effort you have over the years. Thanks for all you have achieved and best wishes for the future

Hi Abe_froeman,

That's very kind of you.

We have all certainly achieved a great deal over the last 12 years - the last 8 in opposition making it more challenging. And the new Grove Vale library opens August/September so some of my projects are still happening.

Ditto the above James, I only hope your succesor will put in the same or more (if that's possible) of the effort you have over the years. Good luck and thanks for creating undoubtedly the most constructive and useful thread to the community on the East Dulwich Forum.

PS please let Admin know if you want the thread locked so the new kids on the block can start their own, as it's not possible to change ownership of threads.

I was disappointed that you didn?t make it through as you have been so helpful and so proactive. I can?t see your successor working as hard as you do/have on here but I hope I?m proven wrong. Thank you so much for all of your help/work over the years.
Sorry to see these results, James you have been a particularly responsive councillor and I will miss you. I'm a bit shocked that the Lib Dems have been wiped out in Goose Green, Labour now has 49 out of 60 Southwark seats. It's rarely a good thing to have a Council so dominated by a single party.
I want to say thank you too. It was very refreshing to have an a readily contactable councillor who wanted to help and willingly engaged with residents. You have restored my faith in local politics and I really appreciate all the hard work you have done for East Dulwich.

Sorry to see James go. Has done a lot of good work in the area and puts himself out to help in all our enquiries.

I'm having problems finding a definitive list of results that includes Dulwich and Goosegreen ward.

Anyone got a link ? thank you

Whilst we have had our differences regarding a number of your policies you have undoubtedly worked very hard to deliver on case-work and local issues. You never were my councillor (I was in an adjacent ward) but I hope your work rate and commitment is copied as a good role model by successors. And your willingness to communicate and engage in debate on open fora. Perhaps you will decide in the next round to come back invigorated. Despite our differences, I hope so.
Thank you for all your hard work, James. Your visibility and willingness to engage here has been so good for the area and has given me a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the work local councillors do. You have always had the community's best interests at heart. I'm sure you will enjoy the break (!) but I hope we will see you in local politics again soon.

Thank you James for your hard work over the past few years. Despite a difference of opinion you were the only councillor I ever thought was worthy of the position. Even though I am not a Lib Dem supporter you got my vote. I can't believe the good citizens of Southwark have given an even bigger mandate to the Tooley street looniea after the fiasco they have made of everything they touch.

I hooe you enjoy more time with your family and come back fighting in the future. Best wishes.

    • Hadn't realised that the Panorama programme that people are up in arms about was over a year ago.  There wasn't much fuss at the time so why drag it up.  Unless you hate Britain, hate liberals, hate the BBC, want a divided country, support the most powerful person in the world despite his many failings. The programme was clumsy, but the vast majority of us know that Trump had an influence.  So the Telegraph has played into his hands.
