Pleasure MP.

I had a wonderful evening, definitely the best drinks I've been to so far.

I met: Tillietrotter, Asset, Lorenzo, Fear n boozin, Keef, Hal9000, Matthew123, Ladymuck, Bookworm, Mic Mack.

I also met the veritable Jah Lush. We swiftly swept our differences under a beer mat and left our pistols behind the bar so we could both grow accustomed to the flesh and blood scallywags that we both are.

It was indeed a cold night but that didn't deter any of us from having a good time. I spent most of my time in the company of Quids and Mick Mac. We all eventually encountered the raucous and electrifying Ladymuck who was pleasure to talk too.

I'm glad I came along.

Agreed...notwithstanding the musty venue, definitely the best drinks to date...everybody was wonderful!

To BBW: [takes a slow low bow]...why THANK you...and, likewise...enjoyed your company immensely...

[Hummph...raucous indeed]

What ARE you suggesting? The very idea...

Delighted you had a good time though - sorry if I embarrassed you somewhat...pah...what do you expect from someone who wears "crocs";-)...see you soon xx

Psssst Mick Mac, here's another who can't speak English ;-)...

HAL9000, could you speak in English please?...clarification required...

Bye the way, lovely to see you yesterday...made me laugh my crocs off as always.

Bye the way, did anyone happen to notice what happened to "Bithica" (the pretty Asian girl on the neat whiskeys)? Maybe one of us should go back and check under the tables...

Thanks to a cheeky little minx and the Chief Bhuna of the Golden Naga I spent the night dreaming about an Australopithecus with a huge pair of Mammillarias being chased by a wonky Cereus peruvianus engorged on Vi@gra!

Apparently, one can't post the word Vi@gra to the forum!

Anyone believe ian on that one? Anyone at all?

Ladymuck seems to

Hey If you can afford to have the time off work Sean because your kids have got flu or a nice cold and you don't mind spending a day at home with them when they feel sh*tty and they are whining at you all day and miserable then let's go for a pint tonight, I'll even buy you one and cough in your face for free!

I am genuinley sad to have missed it, but there will be other times to catch up with the reprobates of dulwich and quaff with the indomitable posters of all kinds of rubbish. I will be looking forward to it, although the idea of stepping foot into Boho next month flowery shirt or not is slightly worrying as all of my best pairs of shoes have paint/plaster on them still I guess the yuppies could do with a bit of rough amongst them to keep it real.

Hugs as ever.x

The Secret Masters, Hal? Was that you and the valley boy?

Great night - have only been to 2 so far - but for the first time I felt it was like been out with a group of friends.

Enjoyed company of BBW, Quids, Hal, Tillie, Tilles friend Ellie, Jah, Matt, CitizenED, Lady Muck and her friend (and even admin was there) etc. sorry to have missed any names.

Yes PGC I did drink the double I owe you - the CPT has a Northern Irish barman called Ross - nice guy - forced me into having a double Black Bush. Nice.

As I said, it felt like a night out with friends. best yet for me.

Don't worry, I don't even own a pair of shoes...crocs, trainers and wellies only...so your paint splattered shoes should look mighty fine with your flowery print.

Incidentally, I didn't see any yuppies!

Iain

genuinely sorry fella. Was lightly ribbing you About possibly bottling it. Didn't mean to suggest anything else

I'll buy you a pint at next one to make up. If you'll let me. My misreading of your post

apology accepted!! Ill have a pint with you any day matey and i will keep my cough to my self.:)-D

After having a very loooong lunch with the ladies I was slightly (cough cough) inebriated when I arrived at the drinks! Apologies for any rubbish I may have come out with. I hooked up with my usual muckers outside but was pleased to have met BBW and Mick Mac. I can't quite recall meeting anyone else I didn't already know.

    • It struck me last year that any dialogue with Gala themselves e.g. at the box-ticking "Community Engagement Sessions" is completely pointless, as they are just a business trying to do whatever is necessary to hold their event; the park is just a venue to them, a necessary facility, and they'll say anything to secure it. They don't care about it's welfare or upkeep, over and above making sure there's no complaints big enough to prevent them using it again. I've found that discussing issues with them has just led to them using that info to counteract that issue - effectively helping them strengthen their position. What I find frustrating is that the council, despite being the body that decides on this, and should be representing local residents, takes no active part in any discussions or presentations, so there's no way to engage with them apart from an online consultation which is clearly also a box ticking exercise, bearing in mind for the last two years the overwhelming majority (97% of respondents) objected to the event. Why are Gala running the community meetings? Why do Gala run the issue hotline? If the council really care about the park and the surrounding community, and still allow this type of event, they should be way more hands on with taking responsibility for it's running, not just handing it all over to a profit making company.  Sorry, probably tldr but so sad about the repeated negative impact on our (once beautiful & peaceful) park and just exasperated that there's so little that can be done to halt it. This is just the start, it WILL turn into another Brockwell Park, and Gala & the council just don't care.
    • We used these guys for our underfloor heating, their heating engineer Sam was excellent. Very reassuring and sorted it all out properly.
    • They’re convenient. They’re fun to ride. From ED, getting a Lime to Brixton and then jumping on the tube is probably the fastest way to get into central London. There’s a reason they’re  popular.
    • You must be a cynic as in a previous post you’ve asked someone to have a go on one of these monstrous lime bikes! Not everyone is able to walk, let alone ride a bike!
