Nothing like climbing the 199 steps to the old chapel and sitting on a bench overlooking the bay, it's a special place.

Oh, and those "benches" at regular intervals up the steps were apparently for coffins to be rested on when the bearers needed a rest on the way up to the chapel.

Legend has it that a black dog jumped off a deserted ship, swam to shore, ran up the steps in to the chapel and disappeared. Bram Stoker liked that and wrote Dracular.

There are lovely parts of Grimsby and Cleethorpes if you bother to use your intelligence and not believe every stereotype you hear and believe because you are too damn ignorant. There are majorly sh**ty parts of Southwark if you take your blinkers off.

I am sure there are pockets of jaw-dropping beauty in Grimsby. But putting personal opinion to one side... objectively, the facts are that it's an area with relatively cheap property and relatively high unemployment. Pretty much everything is cheaper there. By London standards, prices at the Sea Cow were about right.
