The use of Body Scanners which reveal intimate body parts...

It does me, but least they'll be able to tell me which pocket me bloody phone's in.

But seriously, yes, it bothers me but there is nothing we can do about it if we want the freedom to travel.

Already every time I go to see rellies in USA I get my fingerprints checked and my irises checked.

That's funny! *laughs heartily*

Yes but there's a difference between having one's irises/fingerprints checked and having ones bosoms/fanny scrutinized! No?

*shrieks in horror* FOREVER??!!! Oh Jesus, Mary and Joseph!!

Practical as always...with added humour...unfortunately the whole thing actually petrifies me (melodramatic I know...but it does)...oh dearie dearie me...

It's no big deal really. Not as if they are asking you to strip off! The scanned images aren't so explicit in detail anyway. The objective is too look for explosives etc and not to ogle at the person.... Besides I've nothing to hide, other than my tiny willy.

Exactly! The very idea of airport staff pointing and laughing at your tiny willy! Oh, it's too terrible to contemplate.

I get wound up enough in Somerfield . Queuing and hanging about at airports is enough to turn my pubes grey, not to mention incompetent staff and the ignorant public, all whilst paying good money for the privilege!! Pah

Now, a private jet would be altogether different ..

You say that but:

"The scans have been described by critics as a 'virtual strip search', outlining every contour of the body in detailed anatomical images".

For me, being viewed in a body scanner doesn't bother me, in fact the thought of being 'virtually' strip searched sounds quite interesting! I can imagine adopting muscleman poses (without the muscles, unfortunately). Or am I just an extrovert?

    • Thanks Penguin. It could be a coincidence. But after years of road safety being on the local agenda they finally put the crossings in months before Dulwich Estates regain the lease on The Grove.   The Estate understands there is strong local interest in improving this area and we hope to be in a position to share some exciting updates in the near future. The temporary skatepark will remain unaffected. “Temporary skatepark” is telling.
    • Back to my earlier post about familiarity.  I was in Croydon this afternoon walking between the two main stations.  Didn't feel unsafe, but there were some 'interesting' characters on the street.  Not that any were bothered with me. Not a place I'd choose to go for a bit of a fun.  Although having said that West Croydon has some cracking restaurants and the wonderfully named Saints and Sinners bar, where I once went on a corporate do - not that I did many of these. Whoops just checked and it closed a few months ago. Back on track, I never went to the Castle as I felt it was a bit rough.  How wrong was I?  Only real pub left in the area.
    • Wow Sue! I was reading your post with interest as I’ve never really felt unsafe in London and I was born here. It was just your last paragraph that derailed me and totally changed the subject matter! So unnecessary.
