macroban
I thought a tessa was a savings scheme where you don't pay tax. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/981-tessa/#findComment-24823 Share on other sites

Ant
Maybe she'll start answering her constituents' letters now. Must be quite a backlog. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/981-tessa/#findComment-24833 Share on other sites
mockney piers
She's been given a 'new' job to get the olympics done. Because a 7 billion overspend was doing a pretty good job of it wasn't it!!At least John Reid's gone, nowt for Hazel Blears and Ruth Kelly in transport hopefully can't do too much damage there.Nice to see most of the ultra blairites gone.Milliband as foreign secretary is an interesting one, but seeing as Blair effectively made that a spokesman's role, will be interesting to see how that develops. Is Brown effectively handing control back to the foreign office but keeping the blair camp stink around it so he can distance himself from all those foreign policy disasters? That or that was the deal that was struck for Milliband not to stand for leader and split the party in two.*aaagh, just spotted Blears has the community post, whatever that means * Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/981-tessa/#findComment-24836 Share on other sites
catgirl
Ha ha and quite about the letters Ant. Inbetween getting though that huge backlog she may find time to navigate her way south to actually visit the constituency. You never know! And macroban, my tessa savings scheme has been underperforming almost as much as ms jowell Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/981-tessa/#findComment-24841 Share on other sites

catgirl
Well I know 3 people who have emailed or written to her and never had a reply so that would suggest a backlog, unless she has never had any intention of answering them in which case I guess it doesn't count as a backlog.I do know someone who got a reply but it was a - insert name standard letter which didn't actually answer his enquiry. Mark
I wrote to her once last year (and emailed her to make sure she got it) but never heard back. Hopefully I will soon though, fingers crossed. macroban
We can all trust government statistics - when we know exactly what is being measured. In this case it sounds like the clock only starts when the letter/email is actually opened. So, it may be true that there is no backlog. Fear 'n boozin
as far as I understand, MPs don't answer letters themselves, but forward them to the relevant Gov Dept, or local authority etc, so delays are probably at their end. She is useless though. (Imho). Blears *shudders* Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/981-tessa/#findComment-24871 Share on other sites

david_carnell
The fact that Des Browne is actually Scottish probably means he's got an army of picts coming down south on a rampage of rape and pillage! david_carnell
To be fair, we ravaged their women and pillaged their country for a few hundred years....they're just doing it back now. Have you not seen Braveheart? Just be glad we no longer have to let our wives sleep with the Lord of the Manor on your wedding night! Can't see too many women being thrilled with the prospect of ol' Gordy winking at them with his good eye before having "neo-endogenous growth" and his wicked way.::o Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/981-tessa/#findComment-24889 Share on other sites
mockney piers
To be fair Driot-de-Seigneur was just something your Norman ruling class type exercised over whomsoever he ruled, be he Saxon, Celt or Pict. Braveheart has about as much historical accuracy as the dodgy dossier; it's useful only to pump up Scotsmen before a football game against the English that they'll probably lose anyway. mockney piers
You can keep your meaningless friendlies. I may have to mention that penalty miss and that goal.My mate phoned me up from a pub in Annan at half time informing me how we were going to be drubbed and how they had all been watching braveheart all morning. So confident was he that he gave me the phone number of the pub (pre mobile days) in case he forgot to gloat after the game I should ring him so he could pile on the abuse.Strangely the landlord could find noone of his description frantically waving that he didn't want to speak in the pub after the game?!?Anyway, Miss Jowell...never answers her phone either...
