    So, vegetarians

Which is precisely what made me go back to meat, after a brief period of trying out being veggie. So, so bored of the egg/cheese offerings, and not a fan of slimy roast peppers in a sarnie. There wasn't enough choice. By choice I mean choice that worked for me: easily accessible and affordable. Yes I probably could have got up earlier and made stuff myself/spent more money/walked further. But in the end I chose to eat meat rather than do that. Meh.

Bacon. Not that I'm bashing veggie food, I like it a lot and don't actually eat all that much meat. It's just that I believe there really is no decent substitute to a nice bit of bacon. EDIT. Mockers, did you forget to close out a strike tag? It's gone all weird. EDITED AGAIN: I like a lot of the stuff in this book: Cranks Fast Food http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cranks-Fast-Food-Vitality-Health/dp/1841881589/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1228141841&sr=8-7

    LOL Posts

Lovely image conjured up by nancysmum over on the mistress wanted thread. Casting doubt on a chap's ability to keep his promises of foreign travel for said mistress, she reckons a more likely outcome would be:

    Petty Annoyances

I believe this time of year, when christmas starts up despite the fact that it's still the eleventh month of the year, should be called No-Fucking-Vember. Might help get the point across. Deck the halls... No, it's No-*&$king-Vember. Done your shopping yet? No, it's No-F&@#ing-Vember! Etc.

    Wispa Bars

I've just this second eaten a wispa. I can confirm that it was rather nice. However, I must stress that this is only an interim report into the state of wispa bars currently on the market. I suspected further samples shall be required.

    Wispa Bars

I prefer Roses to Celebrations. The latter seems less of a treat cos it's just stuff you eat the rest of the year anyway, only smaller. Which is crap.
  12. A Londoner. No need to get overly parochial after all. Though if you insisted, probably East Dulwicher.
  13. Widows of Eastwick by John Updike. So far so good. Indignation is next on the shelf, so let's hope it gets grittier.
  14. A really good pair of shoes. /old codger.

    New words

New one for me too, but seemed very apt.
  16. It's not an electoral list, it's a list of people who hold (presumably paid) membership of the BNP. Which, as Mockers points out, does raise it beyond the level of frustrated and misguided protest voters.
  17. True, it was fun to watch. His bit about the High School Musical rip off was particularly good too.
  18. Much as I dislike the BNP, I'm uneasy about what's been done here. The people on that list have as much right to privacy as you or I. There are children on there - imagine how they're feeling in the playground today. More in the Graun: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/blog/2008/nov/19/bnp-privacy edited to add: Of course there is a certain element of what goes around coming around, what with all that redwatch nonsense.
  19. It was very good - tho if you read his article in the Graun about Brandgate you can skip up until the first ad break as it's pretty much the same material.

    a joke

A mathematician and an engineer are put in a room, and at the other end of the room a gorgeous, naked woman is lying on a bed. They're told that every minute, they can cover half the distance to the woman. The mathematician immediately walks out of the room, recognizing he'll never get there. The engineer stays. Asked why he stayed, the engineer says, "In theory I may never get there, but I'll be close enough for practical purposes."

I've always wondered how Christmas Rapping by The Waitresses would sound all rocked up.
  22. Also, forgot to add that I do like the idea of sharing lots of ED(F) related videos.
  23. Loz is wise. No need to burden the forum with all that extra data to chomp.
  24. Haven't been to a forum do in far too long. Office xmas do that night, but I may well stumble along afterwards. Hope it's open late.
  25. It's terrible trying to get an appointment at the DMC. It wasn't always this bad, but recently it's become ridiculous. I think perhaps Cora is right and they've taken on too many patients. The only thing I've found works is queuing up there in the morning - but that's not going to be an option for everyone. On the plus side, they're good with appointments for kids and other vulnerable types. I understand why they give priority to such people over me, and would be complaining if they didn't. It's just the degree to which it seems to have gone that seems wrong. Also: that surgery by the station isn't new, it's just had a fresh lick of paint is all.
