DON'T GO NEAR VIRGIN MEDIA lying, cheating, scumbags. when they took over the ntl contact they over charged me by 100% for 3 months and then it took me another 2 months to get them to disconnect it. They didn;t refund me the money as i refused to pay for the extra 2 months it took them to disconnect me. You can NEVER get through on the phone either. In the end I had to literally beg the guy on the end of phone to cancel my contract and stop sending me bills. Probably the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I even wrote to the MD recorded delivery but never heard back. (6)

Has anyone used Foxtons introduction 0% sale fee (Lounged)
susyp replied to rogertebbutt5k's topic in The Lounge
I bought my flat privately and it was fine, but I don't have time to show people around due to my lengthy commute so find it much easier to sell through an agent. However I've had bad experiences with big agents like Foxtons and I just don't have the will to approach them. Trying DVR at the moment, who seem pretty good and aren't a headache to deal with like my previous agent was. Also I don't want any contact with the buyers after my recent experience with buyers who knocked on my door for a second viewing, agreed an offer, and then spent 6 weeks dicking around and ringing me direct rather than going through the agent. I'd rather pay someone else to field the dicking around after that experience. However I agree that some agents don't do anything at all though - i was there for some viewings with my last agent (when they were late) and they literally just opened the door. Hoping the small local approach will be better. Don't reckon Foxtons would improve on my view of estate agents and i just can't take the stress of dealing with 12 year olds in pin stripes. -
i would love to join a local gym - haven't found one since i moved away from a beautiful esporta in chislehurst. but this one sounds like daylight robbery. keep meaning to try the beckenham pool - but have heard mixed reviews - is it beautiful - or does it have toilet roll floating in the pool? Is there always a lane up? i have a week off next week so this thread has reminded me i should do some exercise..... also looking for a yoga class at weekends since my one packed it in... if anyone can recommend a beginners one i would be grateful.

I have had many a nice meal spoiled by badly behaved brats... i am quite happy to see children in restaurants. Just not ones that run round and round my table screaming. If they can't sit still at the table- don;t take them out. Avoid The Green on a Sunday lunchtime. In fact I don;t go out at all for Sunday lunch - my experience at The Green was too painful. Plus when we complained the charming "daddy" threatened to "knock us through that wall into tomorrow" for suggesting that his daughter was being a tad annoying bouncing on the settee right behind our table and making our table shake. It's not about class, just parents that don't give a damm about anyone else.

I will be moving soon and looking for recommendations for removals so all of this is very helpful. What sort of costs do people think I should be looking at to move furniture from a 1 bed flat into storage? Dulwich to Ealing. ? thank you in advance!

no i don;t work there ! I've always found service there to be fab. it was even better on sunday with most people off to Le Chandelier - gone are the days of having to queue for a table! only ever had cake there so can't comment on the other food - but the cake is lovely!

Went to Si Mangia on Friday night - absolutely fantastic - mainly because the service was spot on and it just made the whole experience a treat. They even poured the wine for us - which doesn't always happen in super expensive restaurants when it should! Really good staff - and very handsome to boot!! -
Yes - you've got me there ! yummy though!

Yes I always thought it was right of way if you had begun to cross. Hence why this man was a total p***s. I'm going to go looking for his car tonight and let the tyres down.

people in blue mountain just seemed a little more relaxed and less concerned about their appearance shall we say.... (i am sure no-one from the forum was in there when i visited it :)) ). Horses for courses - but definitely not my kind of place - and i normally like bars with chandeliers.... (we were't the only people sitting down and then walking out - the staff were non existant). it was very nice to go back to the blue mountain cafe and remind myself how good it is there.

walked in on sunday to try this place out for a spot of afternoon tea. walked straight out again. pretentious isn't a strong enough word for this place. went instead to blue mountain cafe for a lovely bit of stem ginger cake and hot chocolate with far friendlier service and nicer clientele. :))

my only experience of these new lights was this morning- as i was crossing the road (the side road not forest hill road) - with a red light stopping the traffic to my right -- and nothing coming right or left into the road as i started to crss. some complete tosser whizzed down forest hill road and turned right as i was half way across the road- i had to jump out the way. some middle aged idiot bloke who didn';t even look at me as gesticulated wildly at him. complete p***s. My boyfriend went in the co-op recently - a lady was asking where she could find some frozen yorkshire puddings and they had no idea what they were - like it was some exotic food (garlic maybe- but yorkshire puddings?!) ..... it's hopeless in there - big queues and staff standing around doing nothing... Turkish supermarket is great for veg but pricey for anything else - staff are really nice in there too. i like omrith, the food is lovely - although to be fair i haven;t been there for year since we went in there for a chilled out curry after a day from hell and the waiter did not stop talking to us as we were the only people in there.. nice chap, but it got a bit wearing... looking forward to trying the italian - it's always busy, which i guess is a good sign. the turkish place was good and very friendly as we had no money, they didn;t take cards, and the cash machine was broken (again), so they said i could nip back with the cash the next day ! however was spoilt by smokers - so probably good now that they have to go outside in the rain >:D< -
i've never had a problem there at all - they are very busy at the start of each sitting but efficient - never had to wait long for the meal - which is superb. it's my favourite restaurant. cheap cheerful and delicious.

surely tcc is unbeatable?

Buses would be a lot better if the clientele were better behaved. I get on the 63/363 at elephant and castle. Not only do I have to content with big "ladies" using their weight to barge in front of me, but last night a HUGE bloke tried to push past me as several of us waited for people to come down the stairs to get off before we went up the stairs (logic surely!), I said "excuse me, we are all waiting to go up ", and he just pushed me more. So I pushed back. Then he stopped for a bit - and as i was going up the stairs , he pushed me again - very aggressively. Obviously thought his size was something intimindating - pah (6) I may be small but I have sharp elbows.

the white company is the other place i was thinking of. which is nice but another gifty type shop so at least this is something different, and there is a definite lack of shops that i would actually want to spend money in, rather than just browse. so (tu)
-
all this time i had thought the white stuff shop was that interior designer type shop with lots of lovely white goods. now i've realised it's going to be a trendy clothes shop???? which i suppose east dulwich does lack.

Fracas on the number 40 this morning.

the 63 and 363 routes are pretty bad too. i wait for it to stop before going down the stairs to get off to avoid breaking my neck, which i know annoys the drivers - as they frequently shut the doors before i've got down the bottom of them! they are complete maniacs i can;t believe they have any training at all. -
anyone got any got any intel on when they might be opening??
-
ah yes i have doubled checked this time!! and it's linked with le chardon - my other nemesis!! >:D
