Post a picture then and maybe we can do swapsies. I have a brand new pair of skyscraper Louboutins that pinch me too much. Can you manage 4 inches?
  2. And your address is?
  3. Oh please please do start a thread about shoes. I cannot think of anything more thrilling. I have an addiction don't you know? And there's no 12 step programme which covers shoes - I've checked. I'm to be pitied really.
  4. It's business as usual at the coalface where I graft.
  5. A long time ago (I was a teenager) a read Lord of the Rings. When I started to read it I hadn't understood that it stretched to 3 volumes so I just bought the one book. As I was nearing the end of volume 1, maybe 15-20 pages from the end, I remember having a little flick through to the back page and thinking to myself (I kid you not); "he's got a lot of loose ends to tie up in the next few pages". Bless.
  6. A Prayer for Owen Meany - John Irving great book and lots of laughing out loud
  7. Maybe I'm showing my ignorance but I thought Stockwell was Lambeth. Why is the bill going to Southwark?
  8. Low - REM
  9. Radio Song - REM
  10. I'm loving this punky Cyndi Lauper / Hives Christmas duet. Really festive. Gets you in the mood for a bit of turkey. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=My5Bzf0PQhc Hives I bought no gifts this year And I slept with your sister I know I should have thought twice before I kissed her But with the year we had last And the dress that she wore I just went along for the ride And I came back for more And I?m sorry, baby Cyndi (That?s all okay honey cause see) I bought no tree this year And I slept with your brother I wrecked your Daddy?s car And went down on your Mother I set your record collection on fire And said I never knew Felt kind of bad about that And I know you did too So whatever you say, it?s all fine by me Who the f@#k anyway wants a Christmas tree Duet : Cyndi Lauper and The Hives Cause the snow keeps on fallin Even though we were bad It?ll cover the filth, we should both just be glad And spend this Christmas together The Hives I married you last year Bet you thought I was sober, right? But I was drunk as a skunk and I made a mistake This could all have been over Cyndi Ah honey please don?t excuse your behaviour Cause I hired a hitman and changed your will It?s now all in my favour So whatever you say, it?s all fine by me Who the f@#k anyway wants a Christmas tree Cause the snow keeps on fallin Even though we were bad It?ll cover the filth, we should both just be glad And spend-spend-spend this Christ-Christmas together
  11. Dearest Wee Quinnie, I tried so very hard to get to grips with your patio conundrum but I got bored just reading the measurements and gave up. It was dull (sorry). I?m the first to admit that a very expensive education was wasted on me and that my mathematical abilities are alarmingly bad. The sums get a tad more accurate when a ? sign is inserted first, but I?m still not going to be winning any prizes. My advice to your mathematically challenged friend is to go to Iceland. The pricing structure is so easy-peasy; you arrive at the till knowing exactly what your final bill will be. I?ve been going to Iceland for three weeks now and I feel like Stephen Hawkins. The girl on the till says ?that will be ?8 madam? and I shout back at her ?yes I know ? isn?t it wonderful??. But there again I?ve not been getting out much recently. I hope this helps.
  12. Did anyone buy some baby gifts this morning from ED and then loose the bag outside? Probably fell off the buggy (or was it pushed?). About 11.15am. I took it back to the shop and left it with a blonde girl behind the till. Hope it finds its owner.

    Great Gigs

This guy makes me look like a stay-at-home lightweight. I'm impressed that he stood in at the Sex Pistols gig - not my cup of tea but I bet it felt great.

I always check this website before making any financial decisions - whether changing electricity supplier or buying travel insurance. It's one of the few websites that doesn't have advertising /sponsorship deals so it's completely impartial. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/
  15. I've had my current account with First Direct for about 15 years and I've never had cause for complaint. I would recommend them highly. I also have savings with FD but nothing substantial. I save with ICICI Bank - http://www.icicibank.co.uk/ - because the rates are good but, I must admit, after the Iceland scare I moved a lot of money around so that I no longer keep too much in one place.
  16. I'm no longer hot. Now I'm chilly. I can hear my duvet calling to me like a siren.

  19. Enough already - it's still November. Now I'm going straight to the petty annoyances thread to vent.
  20. Some Kind Of Wonderful - Joss Stone She did quite a decent cover of this - great song
  21. Cough - check Runny nose - check Sore throat - check A bit hot - check I have what we girls like to call "a bit of a cold" today.
