personal training by Angel McKenzie Big Brother 10
giggirl replied to angelmckenzie's topic in The Lounge
SPAM - just bloody rude to post all over the forum like this -
He didn't offend me either Ladymuck and he made me laugh out loud on many occasions BUT the offensive posts got reported and taken down quickly. I daresay that if I was given a presse of his offensive posts then I would be offended.

The problem Declan is that there's no such thing as a jest / sarcasm / tongue-in cheek font. There's a very pressing need for such a font.

Change the locks and move their things out and they'll probably just move away peacefully but don't mess with them because: (a) everyone needs to live somewhere and you don't know that these might be really vulnerable people and having you go in and mess with them could be the last straw; and (b) no matter how big you are, there's always someone bigger and meaner and it just might be them.

There was a time when every single thread on the forum was subverted on a daily basis and Woolfie was one of the prime offenders (although he wasn't alone). Frankly that did a lot of damage. Someone would start a thread and then the next couple of pages would be the same people taking the piss and ruining the thread - it may have been funny for the people involved but it was boring for everyone else. Also, starting threads on every half baked thought that comes into your head - tedious. That said, I did't mind most of his posts when he wasn't just out to cause trouble.

WARNING - two men pretending to be police officers
giggirl replied to Fidgetsmum's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Actually I do have some experience of police IDs - real and fake. A couple of years ago I was stalked. It was a very bad affair and the pair of them were caught and prosecuted. I won't go into details as it really was bizarre and pretty unpleasant at the time. As part of my "stalking" someone was sent to my house and pretended to be a police officer. I was shown fake ID and I felt something was wrong. Here's the thing - the police take this VERY VERY seriously. It really pisses them off. If they catch anyone impersonating a police officer they will push hard for a prosecution. One of the things I asked at the time was "what should you do if you're shown ID and you're not sure it's real". I was told that you should tell the "officer" that you're going to dial 999 to verify the ID. A real policeman won't mind one bit and will applaud you for your diligence, whereas a faker will say something like "don't do that it's wasting police time". Of course it's hard to do this if you're on your own but at least get their names, have them wait outside, and then phone 999. If they aren't real then they won't hang about. -

Rome is without doubt one of the most beautiful cities in the world but, IMO, has the rudest populance that I've ever come across - EVER. I've been on the receiving end of some jaw-dropping rudeness in Rome on more than one occasion. I'm not including here the priest at the Vatican who gave me a loud dressing down after he'd heard my confession - fair dos there I'm afraid. The Coliseum is a must see, as is the Forum (the actual Forum, not the EDF - duh). The Vatican Museums are good to see BUT not if you're just going for the weekend; they aren't open on Sunday and close early on Saturday so every weekend visitor is queueing outside on Saturday morning (with the Italians pushing straight to the front of the queue and being allowed to do so). I've been to the Vatican twice and the second time I hired a guide to take me and my friend straight to the things we wanted to see - wasn't cheap but well worth the money. There's a special offer for a hotel on this week's TravelZoo newsletter (see link below). Might be worth checking out. http://uk.hotels.travelzoo.com/european-hotels/683002?utm_source=top20_uk&utm_medium=email_top20 Hotel FortySeven - I stayed at this hotel on one occasion in Rome. It's a lovely hotel BUT - on my first night there they had overbooked and sent me to a cheap and nasty hotel up the road instead. Yes I know I should have argued but I was on my own, having a bad time generally, and quite vulnerable: http://www.fortysevenhotel.com/ It was a nice hotel when I finally got to stay there though. Wherever you decide to stay you should run it past Tripadvisor just to make sure you're not checking into a hotel that consistently gets rotten reviews. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotels-g187791-Rome_Lazio-Hotels.html#ACCOM_OVERVIEW

The Roundhouse should be in south east London - it's not fair! Brilliant place - I can't fault it. And - almost unheard of for music venues - they employ nice people who are actually polite to the punters!

This picture - see link below - actually appeared in the statutory Report & Accounts for Birmingham International Airport before someone took a closer look it. Very nice. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/10/06/brum_airport_shocker/

Hammersmith with downstairs standing?

Oh dear Lord sorry Titch - did I send you to Fleet Foxes? I didn't recognise your name and I'd completely forgotten - sorry. I was just meaning that I love the Roundhouse and I always feel very safe there - unlike Brixton which I honestly think is an accident waiting to happen.

Hoochie, No No No NO NO Just because Keef has called time and given the Pixies a teeny weeny bit of wiggle room there's no call for you to step into the breach. It won't do. Poor Brendan; he's been happy as a dog with two dicks since Wednesday and you want to take all that away from him. Shocking. And another thing; Frank may look ever so slightly like a potato but remember this - he's OUR potato and we love him. Is that clear? Px

Does anyone have Series 5 of the Wire? Can do swapsies for Sex In The City OR a couple of Coronas (not both mind, that would be taking advantage of my good nature).
