Not sure this is the right thread to post this link, but whatever. There are some real cuties here. Michael Stipe, Kurt Cobain, Eddie Vedder, Anthony Kiedis; such darling boys. Conversely, there are some that have been snacking at the ugly bar, whom only a mother could love. http://www.rollingstone.com/photos/gallery/28257099/rock__roll_yearbook_what_madonna?utm_source=weekly-newsletter&utm_medium=email

Essentially, can I can get vipped please?

I'm having my chimney repaired on Thursday. I had it swept last year. He's a very nice man. Also swept my friend's chimney and he stuck the brushes all the way up until the came out at the top just so the kids could stand in the street and watch and exclaim "oooohhh just like in Mary Poppins".

The guy from this show is doing a show in London (is there anything I don't know?). Here: http://www.seetickets.com/see/event.asp?e|artist=RHYS+DARBY&n|artist=null&resultsperpage=20&filler1=see&filler2=RHYS%20DARBY&filler3=id1beatthetouts&orderby=date

If anyone is interested in seeing Ricky Gervais do a warm up, I think he's got one coming up in Finchley later this month - 26th I think. Here's a link to the venue - phone them up and see if they can confirm when the tickets go on sale. Bear in mind that the staff may not know about it yet but I think it will happen. Tickets will fly out the door of course so phone asap if you're interested. http://www.artsdepot.co.uk/search.php?date=2009-5-26&day=26&month=5&year=2009 These gigs are now confirmed and on sale at 9am here http://www.seetickets.com/see/event.asp?e|artist=RICKY+GERVAIS+-+WORK+IN+PROGRESS&n|artist=null&resultsperpage=20&filler3=id1beatthetouts

Am I barking up the wrong thread or wasn't it a book by Mervyn Peake or Lewis Carroll? A verb now, you say. Would you conjugate it for me?

I've always had a soft spot for Stephen Fry because he's an utter sweetheart. He has good manners too and I'm an old fashioned girl so that goes a long way with me. Anyway, long story short, I've just received an invitation to next month's Friends for Life Dinner (Terrence Higgins Trust). Stephen hand-writes all the invitations personally. He's a seriously busy guy but he hand-writes dinner invitations! That just makes me love him even more (if that's possible). I can't make the dinner but I'm still sending a cheque - if SF can give up his time then I can give up my money. Bless him. I read somewhere (and I've no idea if it's true) that Michael Jackson personally signs all of his cheques in the knowledge that many of the cheques don't get presented for payment because the recipients would rather keep the autograph. Crafty or what? No idea if it's true.

Sorry Charlie but Eddie's warm ups sell out so fast he doesn't even post info on his own website. Next time he does something I'll try to buy extra seats if I can and offer them for sale on the forum. They are really brilliant and he's so much more relaxed than he is when doing a "proper" show. I guess he thinks that for ?10 everyone is happy. It is actually quite funny (in a perverse way) when he does something that falls flat. I expect to see him do a handful of warm-ups in the regions but come late summer I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't set up shop somewhere like Soho or the Arts for anything up to two weeks to finalise the material for the tour. Soho is also used by, amongst others, Russell Brand and Omid Djalili for warm ups. Russell Howard is currently in "warm-up residency" at the Soho; Monday nights ?10. All good fun. http://www.sohotheatre.com/p16.html

Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- >.....Izzard though is > probably far too big a star these days! > Actually Keeeff, you couldn't be more wrong. Eddie does tiny warm-up gigs all the time. He does them quietly though so unless you know they're happening you'll never hear anything about them because warm-ups don't get reviewed. Last week he played the Pleasance in Islington, which is really small, and he played Liverpool Uni, also last week. ?10 a ticket. http://www.pleasance.co.uk/islington/node/613 His warm-up venue for the last tour was mostly the Soho Theatre but last year he did a couple of nights at the Arts Theatre near Leicester Square. These are both tiny venues and he only charges ?10 a ticket. The problem is that the gigs sell out so very fast that I don't even get the chance to post on the forum. I'm a huge Eddie fan and always go to warm-ups whenever possible. I'll make a real effort to post something here about the next one but it is difficult and I don't want to piss forumites off by posting about something that's already sold out. Ricky Gervais is also doing warm-ups at the moment - he's using the Bloomsbury Theatre, the Shaw (I think) and also some gaff in Finchley. I've been to a couple but I've never found Ricky's work in progress that funny to be honest. Anyway, death or cake right back at you.

I confess I always watch The Wire with subtitles. Otherwise I would have no hope of understanding the plot; it's just too street for me. Omar rather unexpectedly got naked on me last night (series 4). Mazel Tov.

It just seems like yesterday that I was a Wire Virgin and now, here I am, an old hand at the beginning of series 4. I watched the first episode on DVD last night and the opening was a real beauty. The guy (or is it a girl?) in the DIY store buying the powertool. I love the store assistant's face when the penny finally drops. Here's a youtube clip.

& 4 and counting I also hate smut. And toilet humour too. And so called comedians who think that just saying "fuc*" a lot is funny.

Probably fairies. I suggest you put up a "no trespassing" sign. Fairies are usually obedient, although there's always the odd maverick.
