I'm sure little Keefette is an angel. Congratulations.

I confess I always watch The Wire with subtitles. Otherwise I would have no hope of understanding the plot; it's just too street for me. Omar rather unexpectedly got naked on me last night (series 4). Mazel Tov.

It just seems like yesterday that I was a Wire Virgin and now, here I am, an old hand at the beginning of series 4. I watched the first episode on DVD last night and the opening was a real beauty. The guy (or is it a girl?) in the DIY store buying the powertool. I love the store assistant's face when the penny finally drops. Here's a youtube clip.

& 4 and counting I also hate smut. And toilet humour too. And so called comedians who think that just saying "fuc*" a lot is funny.

Probably fairies. I suggest you put up a "no trespassing" sign. Fairies are usually obedient, although there's always the odd maverick.

I've Just Had The Most Amazing Experience...
giggirl replied to Tony.London Suburbs's topic in The Lounge
Last week I phoned a call centre in Manchester and the call was picked up after one ring and there was a human voice on the end of the phone. It took me a few seconds to realise that I was speaking to an actual person. When the penny dropped I gushed something like "oh you're real, not a recording, how wonderful". Bet she thought I was barking but it's so rare nowadays and most refreshing. I've been with First Direct for 17 years and they are very good. I've only ever had one recorded message in all that time. -
Second thoughts. Stay away from the Donmar. He's mine. Understand. Stay away. I saw him first. My toy. Mine.

Brum, thank goodness we have you. Otherwise I think that after reading this thread I wouldn't be able to sleep nights.

I'm a huge fan of the Donmar and am posting the autumn/winter season here because it looks amazing as always. Dear Friend, We are delighted to let you know about the autumn/winter Donmar season, which we are announcing today. ? A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE by Tennessee Williams, directed by Rob Ashford A cast that includes Jack Ashton, Elliot Cowan, Barnaby Kay, Rachel Weisz and Ruth Wilson will perform in Tennessee Williams' wonderful play, which confirmed his reputation as one of the greatest American playwrights, winning him a Pulitzer Prize. ? LIFE IS A DREAM by Pedro Calderon de la Barca, in a new version by Helen Edmundson, directed by Jonathan Munby A cast that will include Dominic West will bring to life a classic play from the Spanish Golden Age ? a richly poetic, epic masterpiece which explores illusion, reality, fate and destiny set against the backdrop of a mythical kingdom. ? RED by John Logan, directed by Michael Grandage A two-man cast of Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne star in the World Premi?re of a moving and compelling account of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century ? Mark Rothko ? whose struggle to accept his growing riches and praise became his ultimate undoing. Booking for friends goes on sale on the 11th May and I would urge you to consider becoming a member - it only costs about ?40 a year and the theatre is so small that many performances sell out before they get to public booking. Phone 0207 845 5815 for membership.* For the cynics; NO, I don't work for the Donmar.

Ah Belle, I feel I don't know you at all. A tap dancer in Leicester Square. How special. The worrying thing is the number of self-confessed piromaniacs in ED. I'm sure we have way more than the national average. Scary.

Have you ever noticed how many people have dodgy legs in ED?
giggirl replied to Will_i_am's topic in The Lounge
Feet. I notice feet. It's coming up to sandal time so, please, I beg you, before inflicting your feet on the world, get a pedicure. There's not a lot you can do if you have bad legs but there's a lot you can do with caloused feet and ugly hard skin. Yes I know I'm shallow but still. Would you believe there are still men out there wearing socks with sandals? -

Honestly, I can't imagine why this thread keeps slipping out of the top 10.

Here's a good one. Open a really important word document. Set the font colour to white. On a white background it looks like there's nothing there. That should get someone fired.

Back in the 80s I was called into my bosses office and told that we were in serious danger of coming in at year-end under budget and that this would be a catastrophe and must not be allowed to happen. We spent the next three weeks lunching at every over-priced restaurant we could think of. On the last day before year-end we surpassed ourselves; went to the old Roux brothers restaurant and ordered a bottle of wine with a price-tag so HUGE I cannot bring myself to divulge it. Anyway, we came in only slightly under budget and my boss was delighted and I got a big pay rise. Those were the 80s. These days if I tried to claim anything more expensive than a packet of chewing gum I'd have to send a three page memo explaining myself.
