Oh I don't know Huguenot; maybe they're trying to lull us into a false sense of security with all that cuteness, and then, when you're least expecting it... who knows?

Hi Louisa, Only in Britain, I think not, I just had this email from my friend Kylie in Oz: "In Victoria the temperature has been above 44 degrees for more than one week and more 40+ temperatures have been forecast. Electricity supplies are failing, trains have stopped running because tracks are buckling under the heat. It?s just scorching. And it seems that the people are not the only ones suffering. Check these photos of a little koala which just walked onto a home's back verandah looking for a bit of heat relief. The woman filled up a bucket of water for it and this is what happened .... "

Will tomorrow also be a "snow day?"

Moscow/Toronto and any other country with annual heavy snowfall, pays for the infrastructure to keep going. We don't. It's that simple. I really really resent the implication that Brits and too lazy to go to work today. That's not the case at all. We've been forced to have the day off, like it or not and not to seize the day and make the most of it is just DUMB!

Get it together, ED: The > wanky demographic of this area is s'posed to be > young professional, I wonder if we might pay that > last word a tad more than just lip service. Bit harsh BIG5. I've been working and commuting for many many many years and this is the first day EVER I've not been able to get to work because of the snow. Why? Absolutely no infrastructure. That's quite shocking. I'm hearing an identical report from friends in Brighton. No buses/trains whatsoever. This is the first time in my memory that all buses have been off the road in snow. At the moment my only option to get to work is to walk and frankly, it's just too far. Pretty much what I'm hearing from people is that if there was transport (no matter how limited) they would have gone to work. It wouldn't have been easy - but that's what we do best - we make an effort and then we moan about it. -
I had a Canadian boyfriend once who always used to put his foot down in the snow. I'm not saying that was a good thing (obviously) but he was used to driving on snow and ice and thought nothing of it. Last time I drove on snow I had a skid and couldn't stop. I was well freaked out I can tell you.

Jah, Georgia, you've two big girls blouses. A couple of softies. I've just come back from the gym and it's great out there. I even tossed a snowball - because I could. Massive fun. Come to the Bishop and we can have a snowball fight. Yeah

TLS - you are a naughty boy. I'm picturing the young Ade Edmonson as the anarchist in the Young Ones ... "Hey kids, stop snogging and pay attention to me. 'Cos if you're a wild-eyed loner standing at the gates of Oblivion, hitch a ride with us. 'Cos we're on the last freedom moped out of Nowhere City, and we haven't even told our parents what time we'll be back ! So put on your dancing trousers, and get down to the utter King of Rock and Roll, CLIFF RICHARD !!!" -
OHMYGOD RC - what about your horse?

Oh Hoochie I cannot bear you being in the rear of the circle. Would you be able to offload your tickets onto someone on one of the MtH forums if I could get you better seats? If all three dates are sold out could you offload your tickets onto someone who missed out maybe? What they should have done (and hindsight is always 20/20) is put the Thursday and Saturday nights on first of all and THEN added the Friday. Like a sandwich. I think that sometimes a band might announce a one off and then the rehearsals start and they get all excited and bingo - before you know it they're booked into everywhere between here and Eastbourne (or LA). Whatever. I do think this one sucks though - because of all the people who made travel plans.

Has anybody had any post yet?

ESPH is open if anyone is interested - they've opened the doors but there are no staff there today. Very interested in meeting up for pub lunch on this unexpected day off (a gift from the gods). Px
-
Yipee - I'm off to the gym. Does anyone know if ESPH is open?
-
Did you agree on a pub? What time?
-
Lazy beggars - get the bus!

To be honest HB I think it's very bad form of MtH to do the Thursday night when so many hardcore fans have already booked flights to get them there for the Friday. I doubt very much whether ticket buyers for the Thursday night will be fresh meat - much more likely to be fans, like yourself, already booked up for the Friday and Saturday. They might as well have done a season ticket! Do you have a strategy for tomorrow morning? Ticketbastard did the pre so not much use going to them as they'll have sold all their goodies? Are you a good multi-tasker (as good as a man can be that is)? Will be going from one site to the other?

Coca Cola anyone? Coke also has some rather unfortunate links to Nazi Germany. Google "Nazi Coca Cola" to learn some more. Also, when it became too difficult for Cola-Cola GmbH to get the syrup to make coke, they invented another drink, "Fanta". Coco Chanel survived the Nazi occupation of Paris by shacking up at the Paris Ritz with a high ranking Nazi officer. Anyway, back on topic, well done bawdy-nan and I hope the shopping finds its owner. Px
