  1. I've ascertained that it's nothing to do with Firefox, as I've got the same problem going via Opera. No problems with any other websites.
  2. Thanks Fox, I'll see how it is tomorrow and also try from somebody else's laptop. If the problem persists I'll do what that last article suggests :) xx

Hope everybody's voted? Darrell Road community centre was very very quiet when I went this morning :-S When can we expect the results?
  4. Sorry Fox, I don't get your point. Why are you quoting something which says that people aren't researching relative costs, when I've already said that AOL is free? And are you saying that no other email provider ever has service problems? As I also said, I usually have no trouble with AOL at all. Obviously if this happened often then I would switch, but it doesn't. I only posted because I was trying to ascertain whether it was a general problem with AOL this morning or something wrong with my laptop (since I've also got a very recent problem when using Windows Explorer, where I get runtime error messages when trying to transfer files to a memory stick). AOL seems much better this afternoon, though still a bit unstable, so I suspect it's a more general problem which hopefully will soon be resolved.

Do people > still use AOL ? > > If so WHY ??? > > Fox ;-) xxxxxx Because I've had the email addresses for a long time and it would be a pain to change them, it's free to use and I'm used to the interface. I don't use it as my ISP or my browser. Any other questions? ETA: I usually have no trouble with it at all :) ETA: And I think hotmail and gmail addresses are naff, sorry - I have them but never use them :)) Each to their own :))
  6. And now, instead of opening an email, it has given me this message: Expected a ',' or '}' WTF?!?!?!?!?

The greengrocer's apostrophe is the giveaway .... Or maybe, just knowing what that is ...... :))
  8. Anyone else having trouble with it? Grrrrrrrrrrr (6) I keep getting error messages saying it can't be loaded because of "a technical issue" and to "try again later". Or else it just hangs. I've been able to get into most of my emails eventually, but what a waste of time.
  9. I'm with Orange, Ulverscroft Road, haven't noticed any particular problems except for last night when a text arrived on my phone over two hours after it had been sent, but apart from that it's been fine.

You don't need it to vote, do you, PGC?

How about if you keep your tomato sauce in the cupboard and your curry paste in the fridge?
  14. Is that the Co-op in Lordship Lane, maxxi?

Blimey, when I saw the title of this thread I thought it was going to be a deep metaphysical discussion :)) How disappointing :))

I came up Green first, then Lib Dem second with Labour a very close third. I don't like Ken Livingstone much but on the other hand I don't want Boris to get back in, so I think I'm going to vote Green with Labour as my second choice as I don't think the Lib Dems have much of a chance.

Thanks Otta, about to do it :)
  18. I've seen people being verbally abusive on Lordship Lane, should I avoid that area as well? I think I'll just stay at home in case somebody verbally abuses me somewhere.

Someone told me last night there was a website where you could answer questions about your priorities for London and it would tell you which candidate met them, or something like that, anybody know the address of it? I've tried googling but nothing came up.
  20. "Special features: The grey squirrel frequently has patches of reddish-brown coloured fur, and we often get asked if this is the product of cross breeding with red squirrels. It isn't. In fact grey squirrels are more often half grey and half brown." http://www.uksafari.com/greysquirrels.htm Colour anomalies - Squirrels ETA: Bloody hell, that albino grey squirrel is a bit frightening :))
  21. Grey squirrels' fur does go a bit reddish sometimes - I think it depends on their age or the time of year. If it was an actual red squirrel I'll eat my hat. It wouldn't survive a day round here! Did it have tufty ears?

Their free range stuff is reasonably priced. I don't think Co-op's 6 skinless breasts for ?3.50 can possibly be free range in the sense that I understand it. I personally would not knowingly buy chicken which was kept in a barn, whether they could roam about in it or not.
  23. This book is quite good at helping you to think in a focused way how your skills and experience could be used in other lines of work: What Color Is Your Parachute 2012 It's got mixed reviews on Amazon, the main criticism being that it is "too American", but I think for somebody looking to change career rather than wanting advice on job seeking/getting, it is very useful. Good luck!
  24. How much does it cost to sponsor a bed, Monica?
  25. BrandNewGuy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > TfL's fine for bus, tube, tram and Overground > info, but useless for rail in my experience... xxxxxxx Yeh they don't seem very joined up. The TfL site said there was no rail service between Norwood Junction and somewhere or other, but nothing about the East Dulwich line. Bus and tube for us today, then :))
