  1. Yes that's what I'm using, one of those plastic blocks. scareyt Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yikes! But with one of those freezer block things > that you put in cool boxes there would be no > danger.
  2. Hi, I thought we could share any ideas we have too cool down our bedrooms at the minute. As well as a fan, my little one takes a "cold water bottle" to bed. I freeze a bit of water in a hot water bottle the add cold just before bed and put a soft pillow case on it. Then they can rest an arm or a hand or whatever on it if they choose. I have learnt to put a freezer block in front of the fan so the air blows past something cold on the way to him. Any other ideas out there?
  3. They have a mouse problems too. Ive twice bought bread with nibbles through the bags before I gave up shopping there.
  4. Congratulations! My boy starts in September so we are extra pleased.
  5. Yes!! We are that end too! Must be the same cat. Oh,I hope it's not a homeless one, that's a shame. Mind you it cries for a bit and then it stops. I imagine that's because it's let in. Bloody racket, but amusing. Lucy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think I know this cat. 6. There is a new cat in town, recently moved in. I know this because I hear it talking regularly across all of the gardens. It's noisy but I will forgive it as it's adorable. It pretty much say "hello" a lot. Sometimes, like just now "hello, how are you". Very polite. Clearly crying for some supper or to get in. I just want to know it's name and its colour so should I see it passing I can greet it appropriately.
  7. There are three type of hyperlexia. Not all types are considered part of autism. Type three is often confused with autism.
  8. Thanks. Hypernumeracy is not well known in this country. The automatic assessment by professionals for my child was autism but I don't think this is correct. I know that medical officials often are the experts but I also am very confident in my own knowledge of my child and very often mummy knows best.
  9. My 4 year old boy appears to have this. Has anyone else had any experience with this at all?
  10. Also interested for my 4yr old.
  11. Hi, I don't drive either. It's possible to bus to jelly tots cafe in herne hill which is a nice little soft play. It's not free but very cheap. Not big and intimidating for a little one. Dulwich library has several tots singing classes and a stay and play afternoon too in a secure area with lots of toys, that's free. Copleston community centre has a nice stay and play in a very big hall with really nice people. Horniman is obviously great. Become a member then dad can go to the aquarium and other kids bits whenever he likes and bring you as a guest at weeekends. Don't forget the little animal farm there too.
  12. But pizza boy has only been open a few months
  13. We order all underlay and carpet from burts.co.uk then get Steve (very well recommended on here) to fit.
  14. I wrote to my local school asking them to put in the newsletter an encouraging Request not to keep the engine running outside school (usually for air conditioning in summer). Silver birch trees and many other plants significantly reduce pollution in their immediate environments. Again I've encouraged my school to establish hedges at fences etc. I've read that even standing one step back from the road makes a difference to the pollution you consume so it's well worth taking less busy routes and standing wall side of a road rather than kerb side. Finally, not so good for schools but maybe for home, I have signed up for this product that you might also like: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/882633450/wynd-the-smartest-air-purifier-for-your-personal-s?ref=email
  15. Yes it is. Fresh and sparkly. But otherwise identical. Glad to have them back.
  16. Excellent. When they are finished the crates will probably go out the back then. Can't wait to have them back.
  17. Still not open today but the staff are back in so maybe restocking shelves soon? I'm sure someone said they might be addressing the issue of crates out the front in the refurb but it doesn't look like it, or perhaps work still has to start on that matter.
  18. Fingers crossed. Thank you.
  19. Does anyone know when the co op will be back open? It's been ages and is sorely missed.
  20. Ooh that's good news re the co op. I am hoping for a little chi chi restaurant like Pedlers on Mr Bao to open locally. Wishful thinking I fear.
  21. Looks like it is going to be an office after all. Shame. http://www.primelocation.com/to-rent/commercial/details/42978340#zmqT2l6IVHAw00MG.97
  22. Oh bummer. I thought it was just to let.
  23. Anyone had any more news on what businesses might be coming? Lots of work but no clues.
  24. Pedlar in Peckham. Artusi on Bellenden. Forza in Copleston. Spinach on Lordship. Tamnang Thai or Joanna's in Crystal Palace.
