  1. Bournemouth beach is beautiful. It?s won lots of awards. We stay at the Marriott Eastcliff which is at the top of a vehicular, great fun for our 5 yr old boy. If you are there a few days it?s fun to rent a traditional beach hut on the beach to make your own tea and lunch etc. There is also a very excellent pool about 1tmins drive away that had about 10mwater slides. Many suitable for non swimming children which is unusual.
  2. Watson?s general telegraph, the bishop, brick house cafe
  3. Sorry no advice. But I remember how traumatic thus was for me and my baby. I just wanted to wish you good luck with it. It genuinely does all work out in the end. This too will pass.
  4. You could buy a street dance video, maybe a Diversity dvd.
  5. Here?s the link to the cooking classes: http://www.suzannejames.co.uk/fiftyseven_whatson.asp
  6. Watson?s general telegraph do one.
  7. Does anyone know how the snow is sitting at Horniman? Worthy of a sledding visit?
  8. It?s snowing. We have our sled. We are near the rye but it?s a bit flat. Does anyone know any better sledding spots in East Dulwich?
  9. Yes, near the rye, low pressure. Pipes also burst at neighbours and also outside the Galleon.
  10. We stayed here in Nime: http://www.les-sardines.com/fr/les-3-chambres.html Very lovely. Yummy sociable breakfasts. The haribo museum in Nime is fun, and the aqueduct is beautiful.
  11. If you have Sky On Demand, do a search for Britain?s favourite dogs: top 100. Everything you need to make a start, in a fun format.
  12. We used trace surveys who are a leak detection specialist. It?s 3-400 but a proper survey. You will then know the cause of the leak which may be quick and easy to fix yourselves. Before them we spent several thousand pounds going with roofers recommended works and the leak didn?t get fixed. So be warned of paying for works that don?t guarantee a fix.
  13. If you haven?t, look at the canopy and stars website. Lots of ideas there.
  14. This is what I was trying to illustrate. People like to tell you what is right and what isn?t. What is normal or not. If you fall outside of this it can be worrying. Go with your gut, consult a few people you trust and if anything feels wrong go to an expert.
  15. Hi, the classes were ok but do be warned. The people who run these classes are lovely and very good but are not the experts in everything. For example, when discussing breastfeeding I asked, what happens if you run out of milk. My teacher laughed and said it?s not possible, your body is built for feeding baby. This is actually very untrue. Many mums run out of milk. When it consequently happened to me I felt very deficient and with all the hormones going on it was a very distressing time for me which led me into depression essentially. Had I been told it?s perfectly normal and to just reach out for help, I might have gone down a different path.
  16. A true family adventure: let the kids research and find out about different countries and get them to choose.
  17. Yes Harris have just announced this for their teachers. hammerman Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's not clear on their website from what I can > see but I've also seen a lot of adverts in the > local press during the past few weeks about DVIS > changing their admissions policy for the year > 2019/20. 18. Also in no mans land beside Peckham rye. Applied to Harris and got in. Fairlawn is unlikely but I would say harris and Goodrich and certainly Heber you would get in. Definitely put 6 as I know people that haven?t and end up miles away. Also, I know both Goodrich and Heber accepted people from the waiting lists this year. We were scared too but got exactly what we wanted. Just pick based on preference, fill in all 6 and try not to worry.
  19. Re the pollution matter, Harris are doing their best to address this. There are plans for a green screen which will reduce pollution into the school. The bus stop is being moved so buses don?t stop outside. Road markings are going down to push cars back from the entrance. The weekly newsletter regularly reminds parents to turn off their engines at the school. The school and some classrooms has air plants in them to further reduce the risk of pollution. Whilst the site of the school can?t be changed, Harris certainly is aware of the risks and is doing everything in their power to mitigate them. Also, children go on very regular forest walks which is an added bonus fresh air break.
  20. We loved the Lafodia on Lopud. No cars on the island at all so kids can run free and safe. Waters are totally clear like the carribean. We had a room with a large balcony and jacuzzi so when the kids went to bed we still had an evening.
  21. If you do it online, the meter reader is irrelevant. You don?t need both.
  22. True. You would think the shops would be worried about someone having an accident on their land. The Galleon has terrible pock marks outside it and that ditch with the building work is very dodgy. I wonder who paid for or supported the painted bollards back on the day. They could do with a revamp and there must have been a joint effort at some point in time to orchestrate that. leur Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes, a group effort would be a good idea. 23. There was another post a while ago that died that briefly mentioned this. The local councillor confirmed the pavements belong to the shops and each one would need to sort out their patch. Very frustrating and nearly impossible to implement. Maybe some kind of petition or something like that?
  24. I would loooove a laundry chute. Sigh.
  25. Wow this looks amazing for kids! HornesPlaceOast Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thanks Mariana for the recommendation. If you > would like some more info please email me at > info@hornesplaceoast.co.uk
