  1. I know what you mean about E&C death by roundabout. When I'm feeling a tad fragile there's a little cut through on the left opp Heygate St which takes you across Kennington Park Rd avoiding the killa roundabout via the back streets and park and out onto St Georges Road.
  2. I've PM'd you. Good luck.
  3. Strange coincidence. I was thinking exactly the same thing over the weekend when I was reminiscing about the 24 hour Starlight Diner in Moscow.
  4. They're not classed as disabled. The extra wide bays are useful for when you need to open your door wide to get toddlers out of their seats and stand them by the side of the car whilst you pull out the rest of the paraphernalia. If there's none available it just means using up two bays elsewhere and walking a little further.
  5. or punctured dreams
  6. Surely ?3.20 is but a small price to pay to sit in such a fine establishment. Look at the benefits: Real glass. Heart of ED. Table football. Clean toilets. Beautiful people. Ambient space. Bargain I say.
  7. I've got 3 kids and I don't always get an allocated space. It's hardly the end of the world. able bodied 4x4 drivers using the disabled drivers parking bays is a far bigger issue.
  8. mlteenie has recently done this and I believe is ED's leading authority on these matters.
  9. It's the 'K' word *Bob* has a problem with. Didn't you know he's the forums resident racist? (and I'm the resident homophobe) edited for gay spelling
  10. Hope you're right Jah. It's such a good space and deserves to serve a proper roastie.
  11. After Sydenham Hill and Anerly Hill, Denmark Hill is a doddle.
  12. I'm not denying that a placebo can be a positive thing. Clearly there are overlaps in both Western and Complimentary medicines where a placebo effect exists. Sometimes for the good and sometimes as a con. However, lets not get confused with leeches and Shamanism as I'm talking specifically about Acupuncture, not as a cure all, but, as you mention above, where Acupuncture is proven to work and is becoming an integral part of our accepted health practice.
  13. Avoid The Dog. As much as I love the pub, their Sunday Roasts leave a lot to be desired. The Herne on Forest Hill Rd does an excellent Sunday Roast.
  14. You're clearly out of your depth on this one Jamma. Believe me, I'm very cynical when it comes to complementary medicines, but I have had my own experience of using acupuncture for a muscle condition when other conventional therapies had failed to heal me. But then you could say I'm biased, so don't just take my word for it. How about a leading authority from your side of the woo? The BMA conducted an in depth study and produced a report with a list of recommendations after concluding that acupuncture works, is safe (safer than many western drugs prescribed daily by doctors) and should be made available on the NHS. This represents a sea change in the opinion of the medical establishment which essentially means your thinking is way out of step with the latest developments. BMA Report
  15. Happy Birthday Moos Keef Buggie and Huguenot. May your feet forever dangle in the paddling pool of youth. Edited for atrocious spelling by an old fogie
  16. My father is a qualified Acupuncturist (studied in China, qualified in UK) and often treats referrals from the NHS. Would you consider then that Acupuncture has crossed over from the 'Woo' side?
  17. The scene where McNulty and Bunk investigate the bullet's trajectory at Deirdre's apartment remains one of my faves. Muuuuutherrrrrfuckerrrr!
  18. The profanity I don't mind. It's your spelling I find offensive. Do you have an axe to grind? ;-)
  19. Ours is now back on, albeit at reduced pressure (Library End of LL).
  20. South Croxted road water mains has burst. Fortunately I filled the pool earlier this week.
  21. It's a bit late now *Bob*. I think you've killed it.
  22. I've just poured some Fabric conditioner through his letter box. He'll be soft and cuddly in the morning.
  23. Mussolini suffered from a wheat intolerance.
  24. The old town is so condensed you won't need a taxi unless you're staying way out. An interesting walk is up to Stalin's Metronome on a hill overlooking the city. Interesting views but the area's largely used by skateboarders. If you've not been to the cemetery in the Jewish corner that's worth a visit and there's also a nice park on Petrin Hill with an observation tower which also offers good views. Avoid Wenceslas Sq unless you want high st shopping.
