  1. Oooh, Mr Sean, wounded to the quick - I spend half my time happily browsing round second-hand Christian book shops! I like Chener's: would like it even more if he employed me there. What could be finer than working in the middle of loads of books? Am loving the Biggles/Emil & the Detectives/Jennings/etc on display at the moment.
  2. I need help. Anyone played "Something in his way"? I can't even get past level two despite typing everything I can think of in the address space. Suspect my brain doesn't cope with lateral things. something in his way IGNORE above - finally cracked it.
  3. Free the East Dulwich One.
  4. Martin Lewis is currently preparing a document on parking charges. It might be worth keeping an eye on his website in a month or so: moneysavingexpert.com
  5. Worms. Flying. Dentists.
  6. According to my informant, she was sitting outside a pub on LL and jumped up and announced to a passer-by: "Excuse me, I'm not trying to sell you anything, I just wondered if I could have a light please?" Followed by self-congratulatory laughter. Not that I'm a snitch, you understand.
  7. whoops - but shouldn't that be micraban?
  8. Is it this one? If so, suggest you send a private message to Macroban and I'm sure he'll point you in the right direction. Lordship Lane
  9. I won't be there - I am still so hungover. I eschew alcohol henceforth. (Well, till the next time.)
  10. Sorry all you chaps have had problems. This may be tempting fate but I been with them for just over a year and had no problems. I signed up for cable since TV reception was so poor (am opposite a v. large building) and went with the TV/broadband/phone/mobile package. [i detest the look of satellite dishes on old buildings so this was a good option for me.]
  11. Posting at this time of night, when significantly inebrieated, must be indicative of soemething: not necessarily flattering.
  12. With you, Annaj - the irony was painful.
  13. What's the market if I set up a salt beef bagel stand?
  14. Sorry, I inferred from the Vale thread that he had attended. Hush my mouth.
  15. But MM did have a social life - he attended the Forum Drinks, benefits budget suspended for the duration.
  16. For the Gok fans, free ticket info for his London shows: Gok
  17. Vanessa Feltz was extremely rude to someone who texted "upmost" in stead of "utmost" this morning. Reckon she missed breakfast.
  18. A town called Alice?
  19. Sun-dried tomatoes, aka, sweaty socks.
  20. I'm not proud - I'd love one please Asset - I'll give you a seven point advantage!
  21. I must be terribly old-fashioned, horsebox, I prefer the separate service - much more class.
  22. Got my copy this morning. Brendan appears to be advertising The Glades, Bromley on page 5.
  23. Can't say I've ever had a bad experience in there - I think Rose is wonderful. But then I've never had to take anything back. Why not try again - if something is not fit for purpose, I thought the shop was obliged to refund your money.
  24. Apparently Jo Good (if I've understood her ramblings correctly) is filming for "The Bill" in Peckham today.
