    Hurrah to that!
  4. The builders fence has blocked the other side for ages!
  5. Presumably whoever lives in the blocks pay a charge for maintenance which includes this sort of stuff. It's surprising that they aren't complaining themselves.

It's still an issue as you can't access the pavement from the other side of the road. There doesn't seem to be any point in having it still - have the developers answered your concerns yet as it's been a long time? Thanks.
  7. Was more thinking about local reaction to the delays etc!
  8. Sounds great. Just zoned in on the proposed planned road closure too.....
  9. I donate 3 times a year as I'm O neg. I think it's reasonable surely to book up as they need to manage things. Just book via the Blood Doning website - there are so many local sites - once you go you can usually book up the next session.
  10. Not sure what/who you mean and whether it's helpful o users?
  11. Yes - just returned from the gym and the fence is still up but open at both ends. I suspect this is because there is a sales office there now at the weekend and annoyingly it's because of the inconvenience to potential customers rather than for locals and gym users. Thanks James - will email you.
  12. Had another standoff with me trying to enter the gym this morning and a car trying to exit the building round a huge white van parked next to the entrance just stopping to text. No shame at all and just drove off showing a finger to both of us. The developers have deposited 2 portable toilets behind the fence now which suggests the fence isn't coming down any time soon. So cross and feel they are now just being arrogant. We have accommodated them long enough - can you advise on who to contact at a senior level?
  13. Hi James Can you advise on when the fence blocking the pavement will be removed at the front of the new flats next to the East Dulwich gym in Crystal Palace Road? The main works have been completed some time ago and the flats are now on sale. It has been quite precarious trying to cross the busy road to and from the gym for a very long time and additionally the builders big vans are often parked outside blocking most of that side of the road. I've witnessed people with buggies having to wait quite a long time to cross and yesterday I had to wait while a car tried to leave the gym building and couldn't see round a van parked immediately by the fence. I had to wait til he had manouvered round before I could safely enter. Think the developers have had long enough! Many thanks.

  17. Maybe just accept different women want different things without questioning it.
  18. It's just dated language really and language is important as everything evolves. Men and women - fine aren't they?
  19. To me it's just archaic language. I always look at the person choosing to use it and quite often people refusing to evolve in other ways. Or gammon. That said, some women, possibly an older generation, do prefer it. It's more significant I feel when, if gently corrected, the user makes a big issue out of it - speaks volumes.

  21. Has anyone who is adversely affected been in contact with Southwark directly?
  22. Its quite worrying - have all these incidents been reported?
  23. Totally agree about Three - I have go outside to make calls when at home and often receive messages the next day!
