Not the case. Unfortunately (have posted on this previously)I have been cannoned into twice on the pavements from behind - simply cyclists choosing to ride the busy pavement on ED Road to cut across by the children's play area - I fell over and both sped off when they realised what they'd done without a backward glance to check I was ok. Also am fairly often obliged to get out of the way of people cycling on pavements. Loads of experiencing shouty cyclists going through red lights, mainly at the junction of CP Road. So wrong.
  2. DD was long past his sell by date - she was great - assertive and in control whilst allowing everyone to have their say - good at intervening when necessary. Big improvement.
  3. The pressures been low all week so far.
  4. What would be the point of cctv if you dont expect the police to be involved?
  5. Definitely weird.
  6. Delusional as well...
  7. Not sure how many on here take much notice really - your posts are always strange - or you are trolling - weakly.
  8. Who knows - your posts are often batchy - as my Mum used to say.
  9. "My regular readers"...?
  10. Not down to you though.

I very much hope he will be re elected. Looking at his very low grade Tory opponent it must be a strong possibility.

It was fantastic and exciting. Was also a brilliant way of welcoming all nationalities and reinforcing that London is open to all whether for business or valuing the contributions of many different cultures. It didn't feel particularly political to me. Well - maybe the flag ....a little. Great.
  13. Thanks so much -that's what I was hoping.

Thanks. It's just that 2 other trees have been removed in the last few years for the same reason so just thought the might consider planting different trees as it appears the wrong type were planted relatively recently and our road is looking a little bare. We will see what both parties say.
  15. Hi Robin Can you advise on the position where Southwark have agreed to fell a tree due to subsidence in the nearby houses - do they plant new trees as the previous ones have been identified as the 'culprits'? Thanks.
  16. Think it was my thread you're referring to on three businesses that behaved in similiar fashion and was received in different ways on here. Totally agree with you Lynne and personally am amazed at people on here who seem content to defend local businesses who behave in this cynical way. There is no excuse for lazy companies who relax with the good reviews they receive on here so don't appear to feel the need to think of the future customers they are alienating by not responding or letting down. I've now sorted my request but remain disillusioned with the rubbish ones.

  18. Think GPS are on much more than this but there is surely no problem in them working part time. There is no problem.
  19. There is no problem in anyone of any sex working part time in any job surely if it's negotiated and cover is provided?

To act as a deterrent or are they instructed to ignore these seemingly brazen steals with, presumably the costs factored into the prices of food or to go for easier targets - what would be the point? Very hard to understand.

    Lister Clinic

Your experience should be the norm. Maybe, like everywhere, it depends on when you attend. It would be hideous if everyday was as I described.

    Lister Clinic

Guess there's busy and not managed? Why the long queues I wonder and lack of signage - surely people don't just walk in from the street without an appointment? All the arguments as well with people querying letters and taking huge lengths of time at the reception desk. Maybe I've got it wrong and the Clinic does other stuff but what would that be? On the Sunday I thought it was very odd that anyone could walk in with one lone female assistant sitting in a cavernous room with no apparent security. You could just walk through to the doctors room too. Maybe I'll let the Surgery know as well.

    Lister Clinic

Had a depressing experience at the Lister Clinic in Peckham this week. I'd never been there and was referred by the Gardens Surgery who now don't handle smaller nurse treatments. I had an appointment on Sunday which I was impressed by and when I arrived it was completely empty and silent which was slightly unnerving. The chippy receptionist initially denied that these treatments were carried out there, even though I'd been referred, and when I stood my ground eventually let me in to see a doctor who provided a prescription and told me to book a further appointment with the receptionist. The receptionist insisted that the treatments weren't provided so I suggested that she consult the doctor who presumably instructed her differently and a reluctant appointment was made. When I returned on Thursday what a difference - the place was packed with disorderly queues, people arguing with each other and with the staff, nobody advising people where to go. I arrived 10 minutes early and while queuing it was only because I overheard someone else that I then had to forfeit my place to log in electronically elsewhere. When I did this it pinged up that there was no known appointment so I had to queue again in an increasingly agitated line only to be told at the desk that referrals was at another desk! This was occupied by the same sullen assistant on the previous Sunday who told me to go to a room. When I asked which one she said "can't you remember where you went on Sunday". There was also another completely empty reception desk though goodness knows what that was for. The doctor was helpful and I got the treatment but some of the same arguments were still going when I left. It just felt like nothing was joined up and nobody was managing the building and the systems with some staff doing nothing and others dealing with a war zone. Very sad.
  24. I'm currently in the throes of getting work done and am looking for, amongst others, (& see my other moans on here about unhelpful small businesses)handypeople to carry out a range of very small jobs. ?300 for what appears to be a small job - and spread over 2 days - seriously?!
