  1. Gets up off chair and walks to window and opens curtains. Presses numbers on phone to speak to a mate. Gets up goes out for a walk up road speaks to neighbours and buys milk. I am the smart one in this relationship between me and any 'its'.
  2. I live on third floor and still have to have squirrel proof bird feeders as the squirrels can climb up scaffolding even if it as the other end of the block, and sometimes even just planting and brickwork. I would also suggest the 'squirrel proof' bit being as wide out as possible as I have recently witnessed parakeets quite easily able to get through the narrower bit at the top and bottom of the smaller squirrel proof ones. I have three: one for nuts one for seeds and one for fatballs. The fatballs are more popular in winter but some birds still go for it. I also have 2 bird boxes up here but only one is ever used. We think the one that is not was a better location for them and more hidden. But we have show-offy blue tits who visit every spring and breed, and want a prime Nunhead location visible to all.
  3. May I make a suggestion? Could you amend your title from "....just now" to the date? Hope we find them. Have taken note.
  4. Hope he got back to those that love him. My mate had husky dogs and one got out the compound my mate at built at the bottom of his large garden. The others seemed content to stay put and so the dog that got out decided to stay with them too, albeit just outside the gate just to show my mate that they could go if they had wanted to.
  5. Me too. Took more photos today so hope to go visit crane guys tomorrow and ask if they'd like me to email them a copy!
  6. I shall. I think it is at the far end of Nunhead. There are lots of new buildings by the Nun's Head going up but not sure they require that length of crane. Yes, I shall get on me bike and explore. It's a lovely GREEN crane so should not be hard to miss. I live in a 4 storey block at the hill end of the park and have lived here 33 years. When I moved in there was just the Nat West, BT Tower and Guys Hospital pretty much! Holy tower cranes look at that! Can you see the man half way along? Quick someone. Photoshop it into a Bird!
  7. We live on Peckham Rye SE15 with a fab view of London. We woke this morning to this horror in front of our precious view of Tower Bridge. This Will Not Do! Etc etc etc.....
  8. My flat. Nahhh just kidding. Great views and lovely flat but not having you in here unless I can be the lead.... (!!)
  9. Blanket rules are there for ease and cheapness of control. They do not make us safer. Good education and regular personal driving tests say every 5 years (which would be expensive to administer and for which we would have to all pay), would be better. Blanket 20miles an hour does NOT make us better drivers. We may exceed a speed limit but we, as well advance-trained drivers, could argue that we were not driving at an inappropriate speed for the conditions we found ourselves in. Road bumps definitely do not make driving safer either. We are trained to look ahead, plan ahead, but meanwhile folks swerve to avoid the bumps. There is no sense in any of any councils' thinking. They just want money.
  10. I can categorically confirm that the woman who had been enquiring after her missing Twiggy (who we still miss desparately) has NOT taken this Marsden Road cat. Please accept this. Thank you.
  11. Just a thought, without having read all the above, it looks too perfectly round to be that old. But what a find!
  12. Blah Blah thank you so much for linking Twiggy to this thread. She indeed is still missing and when she is found the thread shall be alerted accordingly. We are looking into this. kaz@263 thanks for posting. x
  13. No maybe not but if you google them you can find their email address and maybe phone numbers, so you can contact them direct. Like others they may be on holiday, and two of the 3 are married to one another!
  14. Mine - despite my profession - is to be donated to the London Anatomy Office.
  15. Nope, it can't be. Twiggy has a mark on her white bit of her nose. SO close.
  16. Am dealing with this. It could be. Thank you. Have been away and I am dealing with this for Twiggy's owner.
  17. You can not reduce capacity, Cllr Barber. You get it to go elsewhere. And there really is not much of elsewhere. It is similar to pedestrianising Oxford Street to 'get rid' of all the busses. Will they simply disappear?
  18. Still missing and I WILL post when she is found or when we find out something/the worst. Not knowing IS the worst!
  19. On the SE15 side of Peckham Rye at the southern end are some flats for sale with great views.
  20. Hiya, if you see my thread for Twiggy there are a few excellent photos. It is my friend / neighbour's cat.
  21. Hi, whilst out looking for Twiggy (see other thread) I am sorry to report that a white cat was found dead on Rye Hill Estate. I told the Neighbourhood Vets who came and took him or her away to check if this cat had been chipped. So if you were the owner of this cat please contact the Neighbourhood Vet on Peckham Rye SE22 near junction of Barry Road. I am so sorry for your loss I really am!
  22. Twiggy is about 8 years old and went missing Sunday 24 July 2016 from Rye Hill Estate where she can often be seen hanging out with her three legged cat friend Spider (I know...!) She is chipped and speyed and wearing a blue flea collar. Please call 07852 556 748 - she has a very loving home and it is very much out of character that she should be away from home at all. Thanks folks!
  23. The photo is of a Quadron worker.
  24. I often thank the gardeners for the work they do. Then yesterday I had the opportunity to take this photo of one of them doing their thing amongst the greenery. Thank you gardeners!
