I also am sorry to read this. I also use a helmet cam. However, they only record the direction at which they point. If someone comes and gets you from behind, as it were, well then you need two helmet cams..... Hope you find witnesses. Having said that if they didn't stop for you then..... Best wishes.

Leaseholders Association of Southwark (LAS2000) have saved us leaseholders gazillions over the years by their vigilant work. Thanks for this link I shall look later! -
I did not know powders lost their flavour over time. I had better get cooking a LOT. Kahns Bargains is my fave shop!
-
Maybe but I believe we are all we have. So we has better try and look after one other because we can't rely on state organisations to do it for us. Not suggesting vigilantism though!
-
Look. just making a suggestion ok?

I would suggest we ALL be proactive, look on the Southwark website for the phone number of our local Safer Neighbourhood Teams and put that number in our phones. In my experience the SNTs are very active and aware of what is going on. On occasions I have had to call they do turn up. Not always immediately but then they're not 999! The SNT reads EDF and they also host meetings every two months. Ours in Nunhead and Peckham Rye is at the Waverly pub. I think if there is nothing we can do about the cuts and changes, then we can at least be proactive to learn how we CAN contact them when we need.

In Nunhead I am sure I saw a part time job offered in one of the shops on Evelina Road. It may have been Ayres or Kristals.

I am with Co-op (crap interest rates all round and of course part owned now by Hedge Funders I believe). The nearest bank is in Lewisham (or Russell Square) but you can access them via the Post Office. Believe it or not the work I do (self employed) pays me in cheques! So I can pay them in at the post office. Secondly, I also bank with Nationwide, but of course agree with your sentiments. I would suggest staying put but if you find a sensible worthwhile alternative let us ALL know please!

I would also recommend using a Broker. They often get lower rates from companies.

Can't resist, sorry. The Postcodes define it all. If your address is SE15 you ain't in Dulwich. Peckham Rye PARK is SE22 Peckham Rye COMMON is SE15. (The Peckham Society get very excited about this when someone gets it wrong.) There are two roads called Peckham Rye: the East side is SE15 (odd Numbers) and the west side is SE22 (even numbers). Nunhead really should have been given its own postcode but of course it shares Peckham's being SE15. Meanwhile, postcodes go alphabetically. But NW1 SW1 E1 SE1 N1 (NE is outside of London) are the areas closest to the centre. But then they start from A again after a while. So you have: SE2 Abbey Wood SE3 Blackheath SE4 Ummm SE5 Camberwell SE6 Catford SE7 Charlton SE8 Deptford SE9 Errr SE10 Greenwich SE11 Hnnnhhh umm Se12 Lee SE13 Lewisham SE14 New Cross SE15 PECKHAM SE16 Rotherhithe SE17 um SE18 SE19 SE20 Se21 Dulwich SE22 EAST Dulwich SE23 Forest Hill SE24 who cares SE25 Lost Interest now.

Someone wrote "Bus Lanes are dedicated to buses to allow free moving public transport." That was my point though: around The Oval area and other stretches of road, busses now have to join cars and motorcycles on one lane while bicycles have a lane all to themselves. Somehow now even Busses are not important in TfL's eyes.
-
I wrote to TfL and Southwark Council about this and at Community Councils asked about this. At one point when Mayor Johnson came in, he agreed the evidence (of tests on four major roads out of London, which Ken Livingstone refused to agree to because he was under pressure from the cycling lobbies while Boris ignored them and went on evidence from the trials) and made bus lanes open to us bikers. The London Cycling Campaign or whatever it is hated this although there was no carnage. But then along came a situation even worse than before where bus lanes are wiped out at major areas like Oval Kennington where the busses are in one lane with cars and bikes, whilst cyclists have an entire lane to themselves. This was ridiculous since bus lanes should be allowed to remain whether they accept bikers or not. Some councils around London and the rest of the country allow bikes in bus lanes. I believe Richmond does and much of Westminster, but get this: In Newham, signs on the road allow bikers to join cyclists at the head of the queues at traffic lights (can't remember the official name of that bit of road). Now most of us do that anyway. I do. And so I asked a police sgt once, that since Newham had set a precedent on this, would the police do us for doing this. He said he was a biker, he did it out of uniform, and since Newham officially allowed it he did not know of any officer who would bother with bikers who join cyclists at the section at the traffic lights. Are we all members of the Motorcycle Action group? Then join. They lobby successfully against lots of crazy ideas the govt has regarding motorcycling. But do all keep hassling Southwark.

I'm still giggling at a cleaning company being rubbish.... -
WAIT, you are getting ONE GIGABYTES PER SECOND? We are on 1.5 MEGAbyte with BT. MEGA. Meaning tiny ickle. An Oxymoron is the word MEGA in this sense. I shall tell the Dictionary.com of the new definition....
-
Thank you for the link. My little bike ?18 My big bike ?85 The difference between the two is curious as ever when both have negligible effect on roads.
