Morning police action East Dulwich road
DulwichFox replied to 85volga's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I think you will find these incidents are called 'Blues Parties' Usually a gathering of West Indian men Drinking and buying alcohol from the home ownwer They were very common in the 70's. Usually noisy and lasting long into the next day. Bit unfortunate if you live nearby. Used to be one next door to one when I was living with mum and dad in our Peckham flat. 70's Really drove them mad and made them ill with no sleep for days on end. Fox. -
is denmark hill cooler than east dulwich?
DulwichFox replied to Cam123's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
In John Cary's map of 1786 the area is shown as Dulwich Hill. The only building apparent is the "Fox under the Hill". The present "Fox on the Hill" pub is situated a hundred yards or so further up, on top of the hill, adjacent to a triangular patch of land rumoured to be a "plague pit" or burial ground. The name of the area was changed to Denmark Hill in honour of the husband of Queen Anne, Prince George of Denmark, who lived there. There was a story about one of the Universities where a group of Young 'Gentlemen' and one of the senior Dons were naked on a river bank. A group of Ladies rowed passed. The Gentlemen stood frozen to the spot covering their Genitals. The Don covered his face leaving his Genitals fully exposed. When questioned why he had done this. He Replied. 'Well I do not know are you are reconised in this place, but I do know how I am rocognised. Fox.

Are you sure it is still open... I was in Nunhead today and thought I would investigate... The place was closed. There was a scruffy looking 'Geeser' at the back of the shop though it very difficult to see in from tyhe street due to the big white wall as you would go through the door. The tables had dirty looking cloths on them. Well some did. only 5 tables. There was a large flat screen TV hanging off the wall with all the cables hanging down then looped up through the ceiling. And to crown it all.. a Motorbike leaning up against on of the tables.. It looked derelict. Cannot possibly be up and running as a restaurant. Fox...

ED eyesore (old van outside my house)

TheArtfulDogger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > sorry, being a dog I can only see in black and > white Dogs do in fact see "in color", as shown by the fact that a dog's eye contains both rods (which we associate with B/W vision) and cones (which differentiate between colors). While humans' cones are attached to neurons that react to light at 435nm, 545nm and 570nm, a dog's cones react at 429nm and 555nm. This means that a dog sees somewhat as does a human with red-green color blindness. This means, for instance, that what a human perceives as red, a dog probably perceives as green, and what a human perceives as yellow, a dog sees as a neutral color -- gray. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Do_dogs_see_in_color_or_black_and_white Fox. -
