  4. I have recently Utilised The Microsoft C++ Visual Studio. This is a package that comes with Vista & Windows 7 and is Free to use. It is for Developers to produce C++ Windows & Console Applications. You need a Microsoft Account (Formally Windows I.D) to access. I am assuming that you have no use for The Microsoft C++ Visual Studio. (Unless you want to learn C++ Programming) It is possible that you have accidently Deleted the C++ Runtime Libraries or they have become Corrupted. The Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package installs runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2010 installed. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 Foxy.
  5. Energy Saving Bulbs. Dangers With CFL Bulbs By Cat McCabe, eHow Contributor Dispose of CFL bulbs carefully. Compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs) provide energy savings as well as light. According to the University of Florida website, compact fluorescents use a quarter of the energy of incandescents and can last up to 10 times longer. These benefits do not come without risks. CFL bulbs contain trace amounts of mercury, a deadly poison. Many of these bulbs have a spiral-tube construction, which means a larger surface area of glass that can break. Compact fluorescents also must be installed in ventilated (open) fixtures or they will quickly overheat. http://www.ehow.com/list_7201616_dangers-cfl-bulbs.html

  10. Came to me asking about my alarm system. Suggested some people just have Dummy boxes. I thought at first it was ADT that had taken over from Civic and as My system had been serviced just last week I had the paperwork to hand. But alas it was another company, but seeing the completed service report they did not pester me further ather than asking what yearly fee I paid which they admitted was resonable, suggesting they could not offer a better deal. Think they were genuine. But who knows. They know my alarm is real. Fox

The Dillema is.. Anything Valuable you may wish to keep Remotely. In case there is a fire ?? Anything more sensitive you may not want to store remotely. Hackers are more likely to hack remote Commercial Servers than your Little Home Cloud with all your baby's and Pet pics.. I do not store much. or really need to store much. I bought it on a whim as I like Techy things. Set up Apple icloud with my iPod Touch but have no real use for it. Handy if you get mugged. If you are quick, you can take a pic of your attacker and it's off to the Cloud to be retrieved later. Fox

Hi Sue The Iomega Home Cloud. is basically a storage device. 1 Terabyte is 1024 Gbtes 1 terabyte is big enough for 300,000 + songs (?80.00) 4 terabyte devices are available for <?300.00 Once you buy it (?80.00)that's it. You only pay ?9.00 p/a for a dedicated domain name that you can access anywhere. password protected. It sits in your Home so is safe. (No Remote Storage ) You can upload what you like. Good that you data is not stuck on a server in some unknown location. Comes with Quick Protect so you can select the files/folders on your PC that you want to save each time you update them. You can keep several versions of the same file so you can revert back to an older version.* Useful if you update and make mistakes You can also 'invite' people on to your device. When you do this an email is sent to that person with an access code. They will have to download the Iomega Manager Console and enter the code. (One Off) Or you can add them as a User and give them Full/ Limited access You have full control. And does not cost you anything. The Cloud is yours. http://iomegacloud.com/landing_page.php Fox
  13. Do you have a Raven on your roof. ?? The raven on the roof closed one eye Preened himself against the sky Picked his beak with a crooked claw And settled down to wait once more In the house beneath the family sat Tossing goldfish to the cat TV dinners on their knee And forty-nine lights on the Xmas tree Father?s made a lot of bread Someone?s got to make guns father said We know it?s all right and there?s the proof Our house has got a raven on the roof The next door neighbours, there are a joke They cultivate a garden which they smoke And send their kids to the local schools They must be growing up a bunch of fools The next door neighbours haven?t a cent We own our house but they pay rent Property owners should remain aloof Especially when they?ve got a raven on their roof When father was fifty he fell ill Mother puts the crumbs on the window-sill Like she usually did, but he died in pain And they found he had a raven in his brain... With a Personal Cloud it is basically a Large Disk. 4 TeraBytes is 4 X 1,024 gigabytes of data storage. Much Bigger than your Hard Drive. Directly connected to your Router. Password protected form the outside world. You can control who has access to which folders and who has Admin control of your Device. Much safer and a lot cheaper than paying for space and access to a remote server you have no control over. You can simply turn your home server off. You will need some Techy Knoweledge as to Port Forwarding (Opening the port your Device Uses) so that you can pass through any Firewall set up. You cannot do this with the Router supplied by BT for their Infinity Service. Fox.

You turn on which Data you wish to send to the cloud. Do not confuse iCloud (Apple) with the Personal Cloud I was talking about earlier in this thread. Fox.

To use find my Phone you have to have the app installed on your iPhone. it needs to be switched on and iCloud needs to be set up and enabled. Surely the pub has CCTV + the manager would be able to give details to the police as he spoke to the man. Fox.

Buy yourself an Iomega Home Cloud. It sits in your Home so is safe. You can upload what you like. Good that you data is not stuck on a server in some unknown location. Comes with Quick Protect so you can select the files/folders on your PC that you want to save each time you update them. You can keep several versions of the same file so you can revert back to an older version. You get a unique yourname.myiomega.com domain name so you can access your files anywhere (free for first year) Then about ?10.00 per year after that. So you can even Manage your cloud Remotely. (password protected) Comes with 1 Terabyte 2 Terabyte Maybe higher. and from around ?80.00 or less Fox.
  18. Ok. so it has taken 9 months to prove it is urine. Cabbies are having the finger pointed at them. Logically any cab driver would pour his pee down the nearest drain. Or are we to believe they all meet up with their bottles and one of them takes them and places them at a dedicated site. Or is it the work of a Crank. ?? What makes most sense. ?? Fox.
  19. Many a wrong decision by a wise ? man. George Armstrong Custer springs to mind. Fox.
  20. My Earlier posts on this subject was that it was the work of person trying to emulate Banksy. I seem to be the only person with that opinion at that time as I was shot down in flames. Then what's new. I have never thought it was Pee, but if the council are cleaning this up then surely they could answer this. There have been periods of inactivity . Not sure if that is because there were no incidents, or they were not being reported. The two seem to coincide, but having said that, if there were no incidents there would be no reports. Like I have said before, I have only seen one occurance of this. Whether it is Pee or oil, it is deliberate. If it was some sort of 'Artistic' prank I would feel there would be more sites. Fox
