  1. Are you wanting to see the floorboards as a finished floor? If so u need to float the floor on a vapour barrier membrane, best way probably to glue nthe tongue/groves and secret nail each tongue at 45 deg into the next board. More suggestions... http://www.mybuilder.com/questions/v/1021/id-like-to-install-solid-wood-floorboards-on-concrete-whats-the-best-way-to-do-it-adhesive-chipboard Foxy

  10. Hi Alan.. If you haven't already done so. Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways: 1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the left mouse button until the disc ejects. 2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard. 3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar. 4. Press COMMAND-E. 5. If none of the above work try this: Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following: /usr/bin/drutil eject If this fails then try this: Boot the computer into Single-user Mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes. ======================================================================================================== This process worked for someone in Apple Support Communities: Reboot the computer holding the option key down, wait for the boot drive options to appear, then press the eject key on the keyboard. When it's out, then select your boot drive and click the arrow key to boot up. Fox..
  11. Landlords want rid of the shops. They raise rents to oust shop owners so they can be converted into flats. Like some Pubs.. How do I know this. Well I had a shop at 13 Uplands Road in 1993 20 years ago.. It was called Seasonal Supplies. I was paying ?175.00 per week rent + gas, electric, water rates, insurance.. etc. ?175.00 was a lot of money in 1993. 13 Uplands Road was converted to 2 flats in 1994. I was offered a short lease for ?14,000 but was not prepared to take the risk due to poor sales being that the shop was isolated and North Cross road was deserted at that time. So I do know what I am talking about. Fox.
  12. There is UK wide recession. Europe Wide recession. Global Recession. Yet people seem to think E.D. is exempt... We have seen great Empires collapse... Ottoman Empire / Greek Empire / Roman Empire / many others... Now the American Empire is crumbling due to Global Financial Collapse.. We are just part of The American Empire.. Even E.D. Fox

  17. I have just downloaded Video Download Helper. An add on for Firefox.. Here is a link about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfkFO9_SwIo It is an old video and suggests you need to download a player. When I first tried it asked if I wanted to Convert to a dif. Format. Then it got a little complicated. I tried again without the conversion and it saved vid. as .MP4 which plays ok.. Fox.
  18. The Bubble is about to Burst... E.D. is a victim of it's own success, and people are having to jump ship. The ship will then sink. East Dulwich was once a good shopping area. With stores and a cinema. It fell into decline for many years and has become an area mainly full of Eateries. As rents and rates rise, there is no doubt some of these will be forced out of busines. Expect to see North Cross Rd. with boarded up shops as it was a few years back. Might see the occasional Pop-Up shop. The signs are there to see. Fox.
  19. Well should of been limited to one ticket per person Fox

Gave them a ?1.00 asked them what the school was going to do with the money. They looked a bit stumped.. then replied it was for the children in Africa. mmmhhmm. They did not speak English very well, so could not understand them very well. May of been sent out by parents. Probably get all their friends coming round now... Fox.

  25. There used to be a Woolwrths in Lordship Lane.. It closed down many many years ago. Long before the more recent colapse. There were other shops that failed. At one point Michelin-starred Chez Nico was on LL. So there is nothing here now worth shouting about. Fox
