  1. OK.. Who here would eat Escargot without the Hot Garlic Butter.. ?? Foxy :)
  2. The word escargot loosely means 'Edible Snail' and despite the French name it is not particularly French. Escargots are usually served as a starter in Portugal, Spain and in France, and are a typical dish in the Catalan region of Spain.. and now in East Dulwich.. Perhaps eating Snails makes some people feel a little bit more continental... European.. And before K.K. or the like asks.. I do not eat Indian.. Bangladeshi.. Pakistani food to make me feel more Asian.. If I want to feel more Asian, I eat Turkish food. :) Fox DulwichFox

Even with Hot Garlic Butter.. :) Most restaurants if not all do not call them 'Snails' They refer to them as Escargot" so it sounds posh. .. and justifies places charging 2 quid each for them. ( not quoting La B.B price) Foxy
  5. It's not John Barnett anymore .. Foxy
  6. If the Half Moon can get away with ?5.00 - ?5.50 .. ... How much will the Dog be charging when it opens.. ?? ?7.50 ?? You can get a hot dog for that.. :) Foxy
  7. Places will charge whatever they can get away with.. If people are prepared to pay over the top prices, then the rest of us have little choice. I'm happy to pay ?3.30 for a pint of reasonable ale (Session) in the EDT and not have to mess about waiting for a bus. Foxy
  8. Snails.. Yuk.. Fox.

All the walls were stripped back and replastered .. The ceiling lowered. New lighting. New bar fitted.. ?? The music was a bit loud.. and kept cutting out and coming back on again.. was annoying but they turned it off when I asked.. Foxy
