Give them more intel to work with. Hi James. Finding weapons (Knives) is not the problem.. The problem is what happens to those caught with a knife. At the moment, not much. There is no deterrent. Slap on the wrist. No. cant even do that. That would be assault. The Police have their hands tied. There has to be changes to the Law. DulwichFox -

One problem is that Police get accused of Racism if stopping and searching certain ethnic groups. FFS when I was a young man, I never got stopped for being of an ethnic group. I got stopped and searched all the time, not for knives but for Drugs because I had LONG HAIR. Stop and Search is now a sensitive issue. All to do with Human Rights. DulwichFox -
knife crime in dulwich and muggings
DulwichFox replied to eddeal1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The problem is not with The Police. The problem is with the Law and The Courts and what sentence they can hand down. The Police can charge someone with a knife related crime but it is the Courts that hand down any sentence. Social groups defending the accused of having had a troubled childhood and of never being in trouble before do not help. Talking about kids carrying knives do so because they are frightened themselves. Talking about young kids meeting up with hardened criminals if put away. Well that is the problem of the Prison System. The Law has to be made clear. If you are caught carrying a Knife. You will be put away. Currently there is NO deterrent. The types of Knives being carried are not for sharpening your pencil. There are some serious weapons being carried around. Machettes .. Combat Knives. We have to stop these knives being on sale. and close down Websites that sell them. DulwichFox -

No one is Safe.. .. and it could be solved. .. but it kind of costs too much to lock up everyone caught with a knife. DulwichFox

Back in the day there were scraps in The Palmerston .. Foresters.. Plough.. Uplands virtually every night. People did not resort to Stabbing each other. This has been 'Lounged' because it happened in Peckham, but it is very much an E.D. Issue. It's on our doorstep. Many E.D. residents use Peckham Rye Station and probably use Blenheim Grove on there way home. I was robbed in Brockley in the 80's. I was not knocked about or threatened with a weapon. I was just thrisked and my credit cards taken. Did not have mobile phones back then. We live in a much more dangerous age. The situation is out of control. People are not safe. How ever big you may be. Something has to be done. Before some one gets killed. ??? It's too late for that. DulwichFox.

Man arrested in connection with Dulwich Park stabbing
DulwichFox replied to gerry's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Every Stabbing is potentially a fatality. The Government fails to take any real action against those found carrying a knife. Caught carrying a knife.. Get banged up.. No excuses.. No first offence let offs. Caught with a knife.. 3 Years min. Threaten with a knife.5 years min. Use a knife 7 years min. Kill with a knife Life 20 years min. DulwichFox -
Vote: What /Who will you be Voting for Election ?
DulwichFox replied to natty01295's topic in The Lounge
I think back to a time when Voting mattered and may even of made a difference. Perhaps we should all vote 1 candidate out in a series of rounds until only one candidate remained. DulwichFox. -
Jeromy Corbyn refuses to comment on Labour's policy on Trident.. ..but on a much more important subject plans to introduce 4 more Bank Holidays to unite the countries of the UK. Let's all dust down our old Duffle Coats and Donkey Jackets and Unite to sing the Red Flag. #Dinosaur DulwichFox

I do not know if the Building has any 'Listed Status' if that is the correct terminology. If the Building were to have a 'Listed Status' or 'Listed Status' were to be applied for, it would be difficult to get a change of use and make the building difficult to sell. Just a thought.. DulwchFox -

Whateley Road is indeed a sinister road at night.. lots of corners and cut-throughs for robbers to escape down. I have seen on several occasions small groups of young guys lingering late at night. Hope you are OK LynseyR DulwichFox
