Does anyone know how long the journey takes? I have been reading the reviews for agenda and it doesn't sounds great but then today is a special event that my friend is hosting so hopefully it will be ok or I will moan tomorrow and say to myself " That's why you have not been clubbing for years!". I will give Pangaea a go next week and let you know how it is, same name and all the reviews sounds great! I used to go Covent Garden but I cannot find any decent bars there so I gave up!, I hope you have a great time!
-
Thank you all! That is very helpful!! I shall be on alert for Sainsburys! I don't relish walking in my four inches heels but hey, no pain no gain! Yes I am off to Agenda! Have you been there before? My friend is spinning the decks there and has been asking me to come for ages but as it is so far I always declined! Was meant to go pangaea in Mayfair but that has been cancelled due to people being ill so we will go next week and I just don't fancy all the typical tourist clubs up west. I have not been to a club for years at 30 I feel extremely old, I am sure the crowd is getting younger and younger so I might just regret going!

Addison Lee? I'll google that! That is a good price! As just going to Lewisham sets me back ?10, but I do find most cab companies even the registered ones rip us off, usually on the phone they say one thing and then you have an argument with the driver who says something else. Mike, this is the 40 bus route: ulwich - Camberwell - Elephant & Castle - London Bridge - Aldgate Dulwich Library - Lordship Lane - Grove Vale - East Dulwich Station - Dog Kennel Hill - Grove Lane - Champion Park - Denmark Hill Station - Champion Park - Denmark Hill - Camberwell Green - Camberwell Road - Walworth - Walworth Road - Elephant & Castle Station - Newington Causeway - Borough High Street - Borough Station - Borough High Street - London Bridge Station - London Bridge - King William Street - Monument Station - Gracechurch Street - Fenchurch Street (for Station) - Aldgate - St. Botolph Street - Middlesex Street - Aldgate High Street - Minories - Aldgate Bus Station Where would Bishopgate be? so I know roughly! I like details and plans me!
-
Sorry it is Mincing Lane! Minster Court, 3 Mincing Lane, London, EC3R 7AA, so that means I can take the 40 there and get a cab back thus saving money?! Yay! Cinderella shall go to the ball! Thanks Mike, no idea where Bishopgate and all of that is but I am sure I can ask the driver to tell me when to get off. Thank you Peckham Rose also, I shall book a taxi on standby for coming back and hopefully in my drunken haze I won't get ripped off if we have agreed a price beforehand!

I used to keep saying 'Brought' Something instead of 'Bought' something, some cocky twat finally corrected me not too long ago!

I am coming! And If I don't like any of you lot I could always lose you between the pubs eh? And no photos, I don't do kodak moments. How many drinks will we be having per pub? or do we have a time limit in each pub? I like details see. I shall be bringing friends. You might dislike them as one lives in Camberwell, one in New Cross, and one in Brockley. Not everyone can be as posh as us East Dulwich lot but it is not their fault where they live. Heidi

I have to admit hands on heart that out of all the pubs in Dulwich, I really love the plough, I love the decor, and the intimate feel!

Problems getting parcels delivered by royal mail
Dulwich Born And Bred replied to Sita's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Does anyone have the number for the delivery office on silvester road as I am expecting some shoes, my mother is always in, no one has knocked on the door or left a calling card so the company advised me to phone the sorting office and ask if they are holding my parcel. Bloody annoying! -
LOL!!! I have never woken up in someone's house, broke down crying, danced on the bar or anything like that! For some reason when I start getting drunk, my first instinct is to go home, drink a pint of water, pop a painkiller and go to bed! My body/mind does not let me get to the point where I black out, flash body parts and the rest. The only time I have blacked out was when I was about 19 and I had a drinking competition with my brother's friend at my house, he declared that girls cannot hold their drinks like men, so egged on by friends and family, we both drank straight brandy, rum, wine, baileys, vodka, gin, wine etc....and eventually he dropped, and then I blacked out, but made it upstairs to my bed and woke up with vomit...my own of course...I am sure I had the shakes for a month after that.....ewwww! It has been captured on camcorder also But that was the one and only time I have ever blacked out and that was in the name of a competition which I won!!

I love alcohol but I am no alcoholic. I only drink if i am out at a pub, party, wedding etc which is not often or if I am having a feast at someone's house or my house. I most certainly do not drink every day or every weekend, i can go weeks without a drink but at the same time I can drink every weekend if there are non stop social gatherings. I was brought up on booze when I was a kid, my parents and grandparents always gave me a sip of rum or wine with my meal when I was a kid in order to get me used to booze and to build up an immunity to it as a result I have never got drunk out in public, flashed my boobs, or done a full moon. I know my limit and I rarely go over it, I conduct myself very well in public and I have outdrank many people who thinks a wee thing like me could not hold her drink! I think with the Brits we tend not to drink with our meals, we go to the pub and we have just up until 11pm to drink, hence the bingeing culture, whereas with our counterparts in Europe they drink with their meals, and they have ample time to enjoy a drink. The bingeing culture is NOT new so don't let them fool you, we have ALWAYS been known as louts, look at very old texts and stories from hundreds of years ago and they talk about us drunken brits! I guess it is in our genes...well not mine since i am mixed and I can handle my booze!

I have uncanny timing, I will press the button and it will still be red and the road will suddenly clear...thereby I am left with a dilemma...shall i wait for it to turn to the green man even though the road is clear? or should I cross though it is a red man and a clear road? if I have kids I will wait until it is green since I am teaching them the green cross code but if I am by myself I will dart across the road. To be fair the green cross man is only on for about 3 seconds before it turns red again so who cares??

Gym just off Lordship Lane
Dulwich Born And Bred replied to eater81's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I joined ESPH, and I didn't really rate it, my sister joined with me, I didn't think the assessment was worth it either. My sister was told she had flat footed and was told to buy an insert to help correct it, so she did, but she does not suffer from flat foot because she checked it out! I then said to my personal instructor that my sister was told she is flat footed , she then said to me ( and that was a week AFTER my assessment with her) "Oh, you are slightly flat footed too so you should buy the inserts also" naturally I didn't because she didn't mention anything about it at the time, she only mentioned it when I informed her about my sister. The instructors ARE helpful and extremely friendly, but we still went on the machines and did what we wanted, I certainly did not feel like I was being supervised to ensure I was doing it correctly, though if I had asked for advice no doubt they would help me, but I find Government gyms and gyms such as LA fitness will offer advice if you ask also. I didn't try the classes out in ESPH because they did not appeal to me. my sister and I have now renewed our membership with fusion and we are loving it! We go 4 times a week, the classes though packed are great fun and the machines does the job for me. Different strokes for different folks! -
gerritsmith you will find MANY people have brought homes in Turkey, it is a beautiful country. And I ditto what Polly says, this Government is no better, all Governments are for themselves. Plus she didn't ask you what your opinion on Turkey was. Polly, I have been to Turkey many times, it is a gorgeous country and there is a huge British Community out there. Which part of Turkey does your mum have her villa in and any photos?

how can I get my houseguest to use the toilet brush
Dulwich Born And Bred replied to tinagwee's topic in The Lounge
Lots of people have no idea what the toilet brush is for and that goes for both sexes. I remember when I flatshared with a best mate, she was nasty, I actually had to leave a note for her and tell her that the toilet cleaner and toilet brush was there for a reason!! -
I have never ever had a problem with taxis or black cabs dropping me to Dulwich!

Old kebab place next to Hizar
Dulwich Born And Bred replied to michaell's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Quite disappointing really, an empty bar next to the restuarant, at least the bar was empty when I went there. Does anyone know if I can sue them for advertising Lahmacun on their windows but not actually selling it? I love Lahmacun and pide ( Pide is a Kind of Turkish Pizza and Lahmacun is like tortilla with meat, salad etc ) I was so excited that i went there with friends, and they stated they do not sell or make it anymore. Hmmm misleading!! -
I noticed him when I was on the bus, he is rather dishy too! Is he connected with Moxon/Moxtons? or whatever they are called since they sell sticks of bread, cheese etc outside?

Oh gosh, I have Bebo too!:-$

I have facebook and I am quite addicted. Sorry, it keeps me amused when I am at work and the little one is napping and I take over my bosses apple mac and trace family in far off places and stalk old work mates and ex boyfriends. Beside everyone likes to be a vampire!

Hilarious thread on "East Dulwich Borders" Forum
Dulwich Born And Bred replied to Peckhamgatecrasher's topic in The Lounge
Ah Seany Seany Sean!! I would never go into competition with Dulwichmum, there is no contest, She is DULWICHMUM and I am a mere Mary Poppins. Oh that naughty step, well, sometimes the parents are in need of a firm hand more so than the kids, and the naughty step does need to be enforced. Especially when parents do not practise what they preach ( i.e 'please do not give Alexander any chocolate or his dummy' and you catch said parent bribing their kids with chocolates and their dummy after spending all day dealing with their tantrums whilst weaning them off chocolates/dummy) As for Jo Brand, she is most delightful! She was awfully good on Junior Jackanory! Now come on, an au pair doesn't compare and I bet the au pair kept the TV on and let the kids watch 'in the night garden' and other mind numbing programmes on cbeebies whilst she phones Poland and weeps down the phone about how she has to iron her bosses underpants which is not what she is paid for! -

I was actually gobsmacked to read some of them shop at ASDA!!! ASDA!!! I mean how cheap are they? Only Ocado/Waitrose for me and Sainsbury's if I am desperate these days! As for Camberwell? oh gosh....I avoid that area at all cost....Peckham and Camberwell are the Bronx of South East London. dulwichmum Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I tried stirring it up that but they almost > swallowed their teeth.
