  1. rip it down and if you see those who are putting these up, call the coppers. Its likely to be a handful of sad loons but the thinking behind this is disgusting. Well done for highlighting it anyway
  2. I have had serious relationships that have not lasted as long this particular public beef
  3. I have noticed that for over a week water has been pouring out of the curbside near number 16 Oglander. Does anyone know if this has been reported to Thames Water? I had assumed someone local to the leak would have alerted the water company, but without any response it looks like it might have been neglected.
  4. Op has been banging this drum on here for 4 solid years now. have a day off
  5. common sense goes a long way on here. Oh yes, and watch out for the man dressed as s clown giving out sweets outside schools

The same myth is used on dog breeding sites apparently to denote if your gaff has been targeted for pet nappers. There is zero reason why in an age of mobile telephony and internetz that burglars would resort to any such fiendish tactic.
  7. Please don't ramp this up and make people worry - it is utter utter rubbish found in the mail or express
  8. That link is a form for a parking review - in no place does it state you do not want a review to take place - if you fill it in, be sure to stress that you have no parking issues and add comment where needed.
  9. Allechre, are you planning on moving your child back to the independent sector after primary? Or is part of your move to Dulwich a shift from school fees into paying for a larger home? If it is a temporary shift you may wish to stay private as the two systems do work quite differently, and it would put an unnecessary strain on your child. If it is permanent, then there are plenty of good schools in this area, and finding tutors to help stretch your child's learning is a good way to bridge the gap. You might also like to consider the fact that many of our local state schools are eligible for lower offer places at Russell Group Universities. This means that there is an even playing field, academically, when students move from school to further education.
  10. How sensible of Kingsdale to write to the waiting list. I am sure that was really reassuring for you to know how close your child was to the top of the list once those no longer requiring a place were wheedled out.
  11. I doubt very much that crackhead burglars would be in any position to embrace and refine a dickensian system of gaff marking for the benefits of the thieving community. This is about the 20th time this issue has popped up on here BTW.
  12. Why should we care ?
  13. hoisted by ones own petard once more.
  14. For an example of why regular posters/ beautiful people/ in crowd may have departed, I would suggest an objective look at the passage of this thread as a starting point. Sort it out.
  15. The most useful piece of advice that I was given by my kids' primary head was that most public opinion of secondary schools is at least 5 years out of date! Old reps take time to fade. You should look at every school with fresh eyes and eager ears.
  16. PS , crashing a 4WD in an inch of snow is very very shoddy
  17. Are you in a union or have workplace legal support ? they can assist with liaison with the MIB to start the claim process. if not, you can chase them ( MIB) directly or ask your insurers to do this on your behalf ( they may not want to ). if you have pics of the damages and witness statements you can take them to Small claims- a SC strike on their credit history is a surprising motivator for many. Good luck
  18. Vulgar car so not unexpected behaviour, so be wary about confronting them F2F. hand it over to your insurer to chase up asap, this is what they are good at
  19. I have a battered old car that just bumps the bins out of the way. this also serves as a deterrent to subsequent keying that these people seem to favour.
  20. legacy of the pipework and repairs- will eventually dissapate
  21. It is far easier and cheaper to handle cards rather than cash these days. some awful snobbery on this thread that doesn't take into account that not everyone is able to simply *go to a cashpoint*
  22. We are at the same stage. Our son has applied to 4 schools including his current school, but did not apply to Christ the King (nearest 6th form college) because it did not offer the subjects he wished to pursue. He has now decided that he wants to stay at his current school because of its familiarity. I have heard that students who change school take a while to adapt - not only because they have to make new friends, but also because they have to get used to the new environment's routines and teaching styles. My children's friends' siblings have commented that they felt at a disadvantage because of this. However, I do also know students who have changed school and love it. Ultimately, I think it is up to the students to decide. If they like their current school and wish to stay, they should (assuming they get the relevant grades), and if they feel they would benefit from a change of scenery, then that should be the priority. You as a parent might feel that another establishment might offer a better sixth form education, but if your child finds the move difficult and takes time to settle, the benefit will be lost.
  23. now cut up and disposed of
  24. Please be assured, the waiting lists do move. Some people choose to go private, and so reject the state school place offered. Some people know they are moving away, but go through the school admission process because they don't have an exact moving date, and some decide to stick with their second or third choice (or lower), because friends are going there/kids they really don't like are going to the preferred school, they have bought the uniform already (later rejections) or they visit again and decide they do really like it. I know of kids joining Kingsdale at the time of the August Bank Holiday, and also kids changing school up until Christmas of Year 7. You will get a school you will be happy with, you just have to stay positive (hard I know).
  25. I have found your amex card drop me a PM tks
