  1. Have you heard about Toe by Toe? https://www.toe-by-toe.co.uk/ It is a programme used in many schools to support dyslexic pupils. You do not have to be a teacher to do it because it is prescriptive, guiding you through what to do at each stage. It works with as little as 10 minutes a day. I have not used it in school, but I know many other teachers who have and have found it successful in helping those struggling to recognise phonemes and use them confidently. If will certainly work out much cheaper than a tutor! You might even find a class TA could do it with your child (if there is one). Little and often will work better than an hour a week with a tutor.
  2. indeed, they appeared and then vanished, leaving no trace, like a spring snow flurry
  3. How come this so called community group has not rallied its forces and come to the rescue of the snow affected community is seems to care so much about ? or maybe they just pop out of their local shops when there is a sniff of free cash
  4. Also build in insurance- both insurance for the panels themselves if required, but more importantly, whether panels will increase your risk and therefore your premium. You may need to prove certain fitment criteria in order for them to be allowed to be included in your insurance & any future claims you may make could ne nullified if you have omitted to inform them of the SP fitment.
  5. let keep our vitriol for the two pugilists in the top of the bill bout please
  6. Yes, that does say queues at the down-at-heel Peckhamplex, renown for selling tickets at half the price of neighbouring upmarket cinemas, yet still rarely filling its seats. Saturday night people were queuing past the Santander to get in to have their pre-booked tickets checked (PP, you must come up with a better system - buy a barcode scanner or something). It was even packed at 4pm yesterday when I took my daughter to see Lady Bird. Said teen commented on the cinema being full of 20 somethings that all looked the same. Hurrah. Delighted to see our local movie house benefiting from the 'Peckham Levels' effect.
  7. cool story bro'
  8. I have no horse in this race and this is not my circus or my monkeys, but I am forever glad I do not live next door to an opera singer. nothing personal.
  9. Have you spoken to the FotH management to see if this is permanent ? seems a shame if so. I can understand if looking after kids with S/needs, a meal in a decent shared space would be a treat for everyone involved and give both kids and adults some down time.
  10. good first post bro'
  11. When my son started secondary we still had an aupair, but when my daughter came to make the change both kids pleaded for us not to have another aupair. Our solution was for me to change roles (from teacher to HLTA) so that I could start later and leave earlier. This meant that they were home alone for a maximum of an hour and I no longer had to be in school during the holidays.
  12. China is so not interested in a deal with Britain. All the major trading blocks are most concerned with each other. China wants to improve its trade with the EU, Britain is not a priority. The days of the Empire are over. And please do not feel sorry for May - she chose to do this out of her own self-interest.
  13. You only need to be Ofsted registered if you follow the full curriculum so these groups would not apply.
  14. For Honour Oak you will need Lewisham, not Southwark
  15. The underground seem to have nice helpful staff anyway
  16. an unoriginal clich? too far for me. I am out.
  17. So lets condense these postings : Don't give them anything because they are loaded/drug fiends/ alcoholics/smokers/ users of an over priced coffee shop but donate to cat charities instead. all heart all the time.
  18. I would not recommend Egypt in August. We did the Red Sea in August once and it was far too hot. Temperatures well pushing 50 degrees during the day and it only dropped to 37 degrees at night.
  19. stop.
  20. There is an argument that the structure of real fur provides a benefit in the Arctic, specifically in the snorkel type parka. I do not think however that unless you are a regular arctic explorer but who lives in ED the rest of the year, then you will hardly be using any of those benefits. So yes, the trim is marketing for the majority of purchasers.
  21. This is for the lounge really but most of what you see around the streets is fake CG, coming in from China.I can buy a fake with the holograms/ labels etc for less 500 RMB in Shanghai last time I was out there, less for bulk.
  22. What you see around the area are 90% fakes anyway. As you say, they do have a practical use in the winter in Cananda, less so when shopping on Lordship lane.
  23. outside Dominos. ED Station- dragged itself off towards the flats opposite and went into the dark alongside the railway line. Its back legs looked very bad . Was unable to find it in the dark.Looked to be a tabby if you are missing one.
  24. of course it will affect the poorer sections of London more. Plenty of work out there to back this up, from both sides of the spectrum.
  25. All black cabs will have to be younger than 15 years and new cabs have to be either electric or zero emissions - so there is a roll out plan for black cabs already in place
